Comments about Yamaha 4C Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece:

Bought this to replace the stock one on her cheap chineese made sax. Compared to the stock one, this one is much easier to play. She had never played a sax before.

    Good starter

Comments about Yamaha 4C Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece:

One of the more reed friendly mpcs I've used. Plays well throughout the horn and off the horn with enough projection for most situations. The baffle's a lot higher than it looks. Probably the best for TRAINING tone, as it offers little help - you'll very quickly realize when it's not right. Your chops need to be ready if you take this onstage.I've used it 7 months and it's my mainstay for HR mpcs, at least until I try the Runyon SR. It does the job, and I prefer it to my Graftonite mpcs.

For a starting off kind of mouthpiece it is good enough. It works for both jazz and classical music which is nice. Shatters very easily, trust me.

The photo shows a clarinet mouthpiece not an alto

Comments about Yamaha 4C Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece:

The photo shows a Clarinet piece, not an Alto piece. Yamaha make great budget friendly mouthpieces that are perfect for beginners. If they drop them on the hard floor, they will shatter or chip the tip off,(trust me,they will)it's no big deal to replace, because of the cheap price. The tip openings are close, the plastic body workmanship is fine for students. This piece will get Johnny or Susie off to a great start. Then, down the line, after 4 years, you can invest in a more Profesional mouthpiece(Selmer, Vandoren, Meyer, Otto Link, Caravan, Hite, Bilger/Morgan, Ponzol)that will be more expensive, but worth it. Playing the saxophone is a lifetime investment. I've been playing now for 35 years. It gets more fun every day. Practice makes perfect. On Alto, I use a NY styled, Ralph Morgan Jazz 7M HR, and also a Dave Kessler NY SS(Short Shank)HR Las Vegas,USA, with Vandoren Java 3 1/2 reeds.
