Great Deal

Features:

Great gauge wire, easy to work with and store.

Quality:

Appear to be of high quality, but only time will tell.

Value:

Bought this on sale and it was a great deal!  Should have bought a few more as spares.

Overall:

I use these 50 foot cords to extend the speakers length on our PA system.  Just what the doc ordered for our association meetings.  The ends are good and the wire thick, but very workable.

Sorry to say... it didn't work out at all

Features:

Bought this thinking I could use it to extend my playing from one room to another, but when I hooked it up I knew I was in trouble because there was so much noise and hiss I couldn't play my guitar.

 

I could tell right away there wasn't enough shielding on the cable, and it was going to have to be returned.

 

Luckily- Musician's Friend is exactly that... a friend. They took care of me and we are square.

 

But these cables are terrible, there is no way I'd ever consider buying this brand again.

Quality:

Absolutely terrible shielding, nothing but noise and hum.

 

The cable gauge is too small for the length of the cable. The build quality is horrific.

Value:

If a cable doesn't work, what good is it other than as a dog leash or ... (??)

Overall:

Maybe I got a bad example, but my gut feeling is these cables are poorly constructed, with poor shielding and constructed with cheap materials.

 

Go with Monster Cables... their build waulity is outstanding. Sure, they will cost you a lot more, even three times as much, but you can actually hear the difference.

Value:

Extremely good value for the money.

Overall:

This cable is absolutely fantastic...what more can I say.  It's very heavy duty, the connections are extremely well made, and it's "Made in the USA"!!!

Getting a huge hum with these cables

I got a 30 ft. 18 gauge cable and I get a very loud hum when it's  plugged in. I use several other cables with the same setup and don't get  any hum at all. I'm disappointed and a little surprised considering the  high ratings for the product. I can't say I recommend it as it's the  only cable out of the 4 others I own that produces the loud hum.
