At 51 I've finally decided to get serious about learning to play guitar. That means lots of hours of practice. I'd been using a folding chair for my practice sessions but the position was wrong making it difficult to keep the guitar in position. Then I switched to a kitchen stool which put me in a better position, but the thinly padded seat quickly became uncomfortable.
Then I saw this product and decided to bite the bullet and put some money into a proper guitar stool. This thing is great for long practices. With 2 foot rings you can find a comfortable position that will allow you to lock the guitar in a steady position The shaped padded seat is great and I never have to end a session because my tail hurts any more. I can do a 2 hour session and remain comfortable. I am 6' tall and the short model is close to perfect for me. If anything, its an inch or so too tall. Unless you are REALLY tall the short model is probably your best bet but you could always cut the legs down if needed.
All in all, a guitar stool is not something a lot of guitarists think about but face it if you are going to learn to play you're gonna be spending a lot of time on one so its worth the investment to get a good one and this is the best by far.
Rotating, sculpted padded seat, 2 foot rings choice of short or tall model (short is good for me at 5'11")
Very sturdy, high quality materials.
I think this will last longer than the "bar type" stools with music company logos you see at lots of guitar stores. Its also more comfortable since the padding doesn't crush so you can feel the frame like on the guitar logo stools.

This is a fine, well-made, comfortable stool, it's great for gigging, BUT! If you plan to sit on it while recording this IS NOT the stool you want. In time it will develop penetrating metallic squeaks which really aren't all that loud, but WHOA, your microphone will really pick them up! Of course you can retighten the screws but you won't be able to completely eliminate the problem. If you're a classical guitarist maybe you sit very still and it won't be an issue. But if you move around...

Comments about ROC-N-SOC Tower Saddle Seat Stool:
Well constructed, solid, and comfortable. This gets me up out of a chair, and playing at a more proper level, improving my posture and breath for singing. I can play with a strap again! (Leg issues, can't stand through an entire set anymore.) LOVE the saddle seat!!! If I close my eyes and pretend real hard, it's like playing while riding my motorcycle.

Comments about ROC-N-SOC Tower Saddle Seat Stool:
I received the stool - "short" version. Delivered in perfect condition. I am about 6 ft and found the short stool is at very comfortable height. Contoured padded saddle makes practicing much easier on the back. Seat rotates. Sturdy construction, comes fully assembled (no assembly required). Great qulaity product.

Comments about ROC-N-SOC Tower Saddle Seat Stool:
Simple design, very comfortable. I got the smaller chair and am 5' 6" tall, and find it to be a perfect height for me.
Comments about ROC-N-SOC Tower Saddle Seat Stool:
I purchased this as a gift for my husband. It came assembled to my door step.
My husband was expecting a very "basic" round stool and once he saw this he was very excited to try it out. The amount of padding to the seat is wonderful and he LOVES this stool. He is so happy now that he didn't get the round stool (what he asked for)!

Comments about ROC-N-SOC Tower Saddle Seat Stool:
If you add the backrest the seat only swivelss a couple inches. Wish the backrest was a different design. The stool alone is very nice. Comfortable and well constructed.

Comments about ROC-N-SOC Tower Saddle Seat Stool:
I bought one of these stools two years ago and have really enjoyed it. The seat portion swivels around for convenience. I recently began taking lessons again and decided to purchase another one for my instructor to use during the weekly lesson. Since it is pre-assembled, you can begin using it right out of the box.

Comments about ROC-N-SOC Tower Saddle Seat Stool:
I have two of these outstanding stools and have used them over the past three years in all types of practice environments (from music classrooms at the local community college to our three-season room to my basement studio). Also gig with one for acoustic tunes. I'm 6', 5" and weigh about 235; this is so sturdy and comfortable, I don't even notice I'm on it. Bottom line: this is a great product at a reasonable price that won't let you down in practice, in the studio or on stage.

Comments about ROC-N-SOC Tower Saddle Seat Stool:
With the special sale price I got and free shipping, this stool was a bargin... and it came ready to use right out of the box!!! It is solidly constructed, provides sure and confident stablity, and the shorter version is the perfect height for my 5 foot 10 inch frame. The stool is amazingly comfortable and extremely useful for practicing... so much better than those cheap fold-up stools or anything else I've ever used over the years. This stool is truely a 'musician's friend' and a great purchase!!!
