Comments about Electro-Harmonix Headphone Amp:
This is a pretty cool little practice amp. It is very tiny and portable. Don't try to use it for anything other than what it was made to do and that is, silent practice with decent sound quality. There are no effects, so it is the sound of your guitar, fingers and pick-ups only. Volume through headphones is plenty adequate and sound quality is clean and silent. In any event, I hope this helps.

Comments about Electro-Harmonix Headphone Amp:
tried all the plastic ones. They are all junk. None of them and i've tried them all (pocket-rocket,amp-u-plug-n-play,vox)are even close to this one. Finally a sturdy metal case, simple to use, small enough to fit in a guitar case, and great sound and it doesn't break up no matter what the volume is set on. Granted it doesn,t have all the extras the others have. It is just the best. All the others and I mean all the others will cut out and either have this annoying static or go silent altogether right in the middle of a good riff. Who needs that????? Get this one. You won't be dissappointed.

Comments about Electro-Harmonix Headphone Amp:
The first reviewer was right on point! I needed something small that would allow me to just take my axe to my hotel room to practice. This is a great design. Having said that, I have practiced with it about four times, albeit long times, and it started to fade out and come back. So I decided to change the battery. The battery was so difficult to get out that I thought it was glued into place. It looks like a QC issue. The board is clean, but it seems that the circuit board was not aligned properly. This could be just my device that got through. It had the cheapest battery I have ever seen. So, get this amp you will love it, especially at this price. I play bass, both upright and electric and both had a great sound. Fits on your belt and has a volume control that is convenient. To the guy or gal who did the final QC--No soup for you!
Comments about Electro-Harmonix Headphone Amp:
It's "Made in USA" and built like a tank. All the other brands are made of plastic while the EH AMP is made of metal and virtually bomb proof. It's simple, you get to hear exactly what your instrument and your fingers sounds like - without the noise - and it's very responsive to your touch and attack.
I've owned all of the other brands of headphone amps that MF carries and returned them all because of their unbearable noise, awful tone, and poor build quality. I tried the other brands first because they offer multiple effects and amp modeling/simulation features while the EH AMP only has a volume control.
After experiencing all of the noise present in the other brands of headphone amps that I've tried, all who claimed to be noise free, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the EH AMP truly is noise free.
Because it magnifies all of the nuances of ones playing and gives you the true, distinct, sound (character) of whaterver instrument you plug into it, it cannot help but improve your tone.
When a headphone amp that only has a volume control is able to sound better than the ones that feature amp simulators and built in effects, that's saying something. And did I mention that this thing is quiet?
