40-watt hand-wired 1x12 combo for vintage rock tone.
Dave Friedman's Dirty Shirley open-back 1x12" combo was designed for guitarists that want a Vintage Classic Rock tone inspired by British tube amps from the '60s and '70s. It is based on a modified JTM 45 but still delivers the signature high gain tone for which Friedman is best known. The Dirty Shirley is a 40-watt, 5881 powered, single channel amp that will give you that vintage crunch and also clean up nicely by merely backing off the guitar's volume knob. Extremely versatile, it is capable of producing many styles of music from blues to rock and country by just adjusting the gain and master controls.
This handcrafted in the USA combo utilizes tongue-and-groove Baltic Birch construction and houses a 16 ohm, 12" Celestion G12M Creamback speaker that deliver the bass, mid response and signature sound you would expect from a Friedman amplifier.
The Dirty Shirley 1x12 combo was designed to take pedal and loves boosts, OD's, phasers, flangers, tremolos and wahs, while the brand new ultra-transparent series effects loop handles your time-based effects pedals and rack units.
Handwired in the USA.

Comments about Friedman Dirty Shirley 40W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp with Celestion Creamback:
I went through four different Friedman amps (PT-20, SB-50, BE-100, and the X) before I stopped at the Dirty Shirley. All of them were fantastic, but to me, this amp IS rock & roll, and is my favorite of the line (the X is a close 2nd). I've had it over two years now, and I still can't wait to plug into it each day. It just has such a unique British type sound to it, that is big, punchy, not too bright, plenty of gain on tap, and just clear as a bell in a mix. Simple controls: 4 band EQ, Volume, Gain, and two inputs (high and low). I prefer running a Les Paul Custom into the "low" input, with the gain at noon or 1:00 (still plenty of gain but cleans up really well), and pushing the front end with an OD or clean boost. Sounds superb. The effects loop is flawless as well.
This is the first time I've used a 1x12 combo playing hard rock/metal, and I'm still floored how well the Celestion Creamback holds up at band volumes, which with a loud drummer, is about 11-12:00. The open back cab gives an incredible 3D sound and feel to the amp, which is just awesome. Also sounds amazing through the Friedman 4x12.
I still have several other amps I use regularly, but this one is definitely special. It has a sweetness you don't find in most amps. Between the Dirty Shirley and the Budda SD-45, I'm in British amp heaven. I highly recommend it for pretty much any guitar sound you'd ever need. Can do Led Zeppelin to Motley Crue just plugged straight into the amp, then any 80's hot-rodded sound with an OD in front.
