All the Tone You've Been Lookin' For

Comments about Laney Lionheart 5w Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

This little amp just oozes all the tone I've been trying to find without earbleeding volume. I just mic it to get the volume on stage. The tone control is a cool feature. The cleans sparkle and the drive is great through rock tone. I wouldn't say it is a metal amp though it takes pedals very well. Just for fun I have a line 6 Ubermetal (monster gain in a box) in my pedal board. It is as metal as I've ever heard. Really, this amp lives in the rock to blues range and you can get power tube distortion at relatively low volumes. The Greenback sounds incredible - big suprise - and I add a 1x12 with a Vintage 30 if I need to move a little more air. The two blend nicely and it gives you drummer level volume though I would say the drummer can't hugely loud (breakout the microphones). This amp is by far the best tone beast in the price range - and then some. Buy it if you can - they are hard to catch in stores to hear.

Perfect

Comments about Laney Lionheart 5w Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

The sounds this amp makes will blow you away. After getting a little cash I was searching for an amp to do my guitar justice (Ibanez Prestige). I tried a Blackstar HT-5 which sounded pretty good, and some other low watt tube amps (Rebel, TT etc..). Then there was a used Lionheart on CL for 650. I tried it out and bought it on the spot. The reverb is great, the EQ is great and responsive (tone control is neat), bright switch is a nice addition, clean is great and drive is AMAZING. I do wish the drive had just a little more definition on single notes but I have only played one guitar through this amp so far so that might be my pickups. This amp also takes pedals VERY well. I have a DOD YJM308 and they work fantastic together. I highly recommend this amp. Quite possibly the best low watt tube amp you can buy.

THE IT AMP

Comments about Laney Lionheart 5w Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

This is the amp you are looking for. Just stop trying to find a better amp, because there isn't one. Marshalls are great when cranked, but when are you ever going to get it that loud? Fenders are great, too, and they sound good loud, but just OK at low volume. Rich and full sound at reasonable volumes, but still pretty loud for use at home. I have never had so much fun playing an amp. Use a tube screamer and a distortion pedal, too, if you like.

Found my perfect amp...

By Travst

from Birmingham, AL

Comments about Laney Lionheart 5w Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I'd owned high-wattage amps for 30 years before purchasing a Blackheart Little Giant and modding it. I was so impressed with the sounds I was getting that I bought a Vibro-Champ clone and then the Lionheart. For my style of blues/rock and playing in worship, there is no better amp that I've played. It has a huge, fat sound... like a million bucks, even at low volume. I use and 112 cab with a Vox Wharfedale 12" speaker for added punch and it complements the G12H very nicely. This amp looks and sounds fantastic. Laney support is very good, as well. I've had a number of Laneys in the past that I questions about and they are great to work with. However, I've never had a repair issue with any of my Laneys.

Bad Company

By Stuart Campbell

Comments about Laney Lionheart 5w Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Very loud, saturates early, and really responds to a boost pedal. I run a Boss DS-1 with the gain off, tone and level maxed, and this kicks my drive channel into blissful classic rock chunk and lead on the drive channel. An Alternative dream. A perfect studio amp just waiting for your favorite pedals. Made in England. Once the Greenback gets broken in, you'll marvel at the tones. I sometimes stare at the back panel and drool! If you can't get this to scream, you suck as a guitar player, period.

Laney L5T-112 5W 1X12 combo tube amp

By Scott-7ABZM

from Dubai (but im from washington)

Comments about Laney Lionheart 5w Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp is an amazing amp, especially for its price. 5 watts? sounds like a hundred. It keeps up with the band on half volume... but the tubes start saturating about there so its great. By looks, it is just beautiful. Dark blue tolex with plenty of piping to really set it off. The control plate is chrome. The white chicken-head knobs seem to be the compromising factor-they look cheap, whereas the rest of the amp looks like a million dollars. It has a high and a low sensitivity input, a channel selection with footswitch (clean and drive). Using the right input and right channel, the only sound you cannont get out of this is amp is the sound of a modded JCM800 with a pedal boosting it, which i also own. They are a perfect match for A/B 'ing between. Reverb is fantastic. The only hum is with a distortion and an overdrive pedal in front of it. The amps are hand made, and are worth every penny. The only reason i didnt give it 10 out of 10 is because i still use my other amp sometimes.

Lionheart = Versatile

By TheBoogieMan-5hchK

from Niantic, CT

Comments about Laney Lionheart 5w Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

The Laney Lionheart L5T-112 is not a metal amp, however it is an everything else amp. A one word desription is versatile. Cleans to die for but it dirty's up quick which is what this amp is designed to do, drive the power tubes hard. Best power tube distortion I have ever heard. Clean channels goes from clean to classic rock crunch. Dimed the clean channel will probably keep up with live drums for practicing, for gigging just mic it. Drive channel can get real crunchy driven if you like, roll off on the guitar volume and it sweetens up nice.My pedal board and this amp get along fine. I use an Fulltone OCD, a luxury drive, an mxr dyna comp and a Dunlop Wah up front. In the loop I'm using a Boss tuner, a Fulltone ChoralFlange ,Fulltone mini deja vibe, and a line 6 echo park.I'm 38 and have been playing since I was 7, this is the best amp I have ever owned and worth every penny.
