It is light, loud, wireless. I might take this thing outside and play. It's like an amp that can be taken to a party or a friend's house or a band practice without any hassle. It is just so portable. And great for AC/DC, White Stripes, (some) Led Zeppelin, and sure even some Jazz. It sounds nice and creamy on the neck pickup. I just wish I could bring down the mids and add some lows to the tone, but I'll be getting an EQ pedal soon so it won't be a problem for me.
Just a single knob. Volume stays the same when the knob reaches about 3/4s turned, and from there on it just adds overdrive. The first five minutes of fooling around with this thing I was extremely dissapointed. It is tiny. I mean so, so small. But then I learned how loud it is. I play in front of my high school in the gymnasium every month or so, and I am sure this thing would be loud enough. I also like that there is space inside the amp for cables. The DC out or whatever is wierd though. It didn't fit my Danelectro AC DC adapter or the one that came with my electro harmonix freeze, so I was forced to use 6 AA batteries. And an EQ knob would have been nice. At least something to lower the mids.
Built like a small, leather bomb shelter. I'm sure it'll last awhile. Haven't had mine long enough to learn how long the 6 AA batteries will last though. Tone is good but it's just so much mid range that it is only good for rock and roll. This is only my second amp (my other one is a Fender Frontman 65r) and this little guy holds up (volume wise) with the 65 watts of the fender. But I noticed that my fuzz pedal behaves differently with this amp, like it is more fierce and bright. Also, there is a lot of pop in this thing. Like if I were to hit a string hard (like I usually do) then there would be a popping sound. Nothing a compressor couldn't fix though. Overdrive is great! I just wish I didn't have to turn the up so dang loud to get it. Otherwise I would disturb my parents.
I would pay a hundred dollars more than what it is priced at for this amp. It sounds great.

This product did not work at all with batteries, and was not audible to the player on the AC adapter. In order to hear anything out of it, someone needed to be right next to the amp speaker, which kind of precludes being able to use this for practice (or anything else).
Unfortunately, I didn't open mine and try it until the return window had expired, so I'm out all that money. If you buy this, try it right away - they obviously have quality control issues!

Comments about Pignose Legendary 7-100 Portable Amp:
I had this on my wish list for way too long. Finally ordered it and Musicians Friend got it to me quickly with no problems. Why did I wait so long? I must be stupid. It is inexpensive and absolutely awesome! At first I used it for travel, but now I use in the living room to practice with. The sounds are great and it is very powerful. I recommend getting the ac power cord with it. It appears to be very durable as well. Don't wait like I did!

Comments about Pignose Legendary 7-100 Portable Amp:
If your looking for a great harmonica amp this is the one to use, doesn't cost a fortune and has the overdriven sound that every harp guy or gal tries to find with amp's. This Pignose amp is extremely loud, look's will fool you with this little baby, it's a beast.

Comments about Pignose Legendary 7-100 Portable Amp:
This new Pignose looks & sounds much the same as the 1980s one that I somehow lost or tossed. Sound is a bit dark with humbucking pickups, but you can open the back to get a bit more brightness (a speaker swap might also help, as would an EQ pedal). I've heard these compared very roughly to old Fender Champs, and that seems apt (although the Pignose is a bit more rugged and travels better in a suitcase).

Who couldn't love this little guy? He's small, but very sturdy. He has a nice strong voice -- just right for fooling around at home.
Battery power makes him sweet. And the power adapter makes him dependable.
I like the way that the way he turns off power when he knows you're not there--when you don't have anything plugged in. Totally user-friendly.
Comments about Pignose Legendary 7-100 Portable Amp:
I have plugged in everything that goes "Twang" into this litte amp and it performs beautifully on all of them. There is no way you can tear this thing up! Literally "Tough as a pigs nose"! I run it on batteries wich it is very easy on, or I can plug it into the optional "Wall Wart".
My favorite combination is the Pignose and my 3 string Two Dog Guitars cigar box blues guitar, they were made for each other!
But it, you will love it!
I bought an L.A. Pignose 7-100 the first year of production in the 70's, used it on up into early 2000's. That amp took everything I threw at it, from Tele to pedal steel.
It was the victim of a music room cleanout around 2004, I regret ever selling it. I got what I paid for it, the amp didn't owe me a dime.
It has been replaced with the new unit from Musicians Freind, everything looks and works the same. It is like the amp never left here. It is the same bulletproof little unit that I had all those years.
I use it as a practice amp to keep it quiet or I sometimes plug it into my pedal board and run wide open where it has no problem keeping up.
A quality product throughout! Fit and finish is superb! Same bombproof unit as the Pignose of old!
It has done everything I have asked of it. The fact that it is just plain cool to look at is an added bonus!
This is pound for pound as good as it gets, as much bang for the buck as any amp I own, the most versatile piece of equipment I have. It can go anywhere!
