OVERVIEW

A modernized classic with all the right moves from Fender.

Fender introduced the American Standard Precision Bass left-handed guitar in 1951, and its thick sound and indestructible build changed popular music. Today's American Standard Precision Bass is the new version of the great instruments of bass heroes past and present; the modern interpretation of Fender's classic instrument refined for modern players. It features a contemporary "C"-shaped profile and a smooth satin-finish back neck, modern 9.5 radius fingerboard, with comfortably rolled edges for instantly "broken in" feel and medium jumbo frets Fender High Mass Vintage (HMV) bridge, Fender Custom Shop ™60s split single-coil pickup, thinner undercoat that lets the instrument' body wood flex, breathe and resonate more freely for a more unconstrained and natural-sounding voice, graphite neck support rods in addition to the truss rod that distribute string tension more evenly and add mass that helps eliminate troublesome dead spots, and smooth-operating vintage-style tuners with thin, flat œpaddle keys and stamped with the classic stylized Fender œF. Tapered posts help anchor bass strings in place neatly and efficiently. Includes a molded ABS plastic hard case.

The Definitive Electric Bass Guitar

Comments about Fender American Standard Precision Bass Left-Handed:

I've been playing bass consistently for the last 13 years. I've been a guitarist for the last 41 years. For some reason there seems to be a lot more ego involved with the electric guitar and its players. It seems the faster you can go "weedley weedley weedley" on a six string the more impressed the player is with themselves. Trust me when I say at this point in history its a lot easier to get gigs as a bass player than it is as a guitar player, which is why I play bass alot. I haven't played alot of different basses, as being a lefty limits the variety of basses available. Here's the thing.... the Fender Precision bass is the only bass I need. Two knobs... volume and tone, keeps it nice and simple. I don't need four different EQ knobs and a freakin' battery powered pre-amp in my bass. My bass isn't a toy monkey bashing two cymbals together powered by a nine-volt battery. I'm not a large person, so the 34" scale can be somewhat of a stretch for me at times... but I had a short-scale Epiphone for awhile and it had all the tonality of farting into a couch cushion. Now, I can get that sound on a P-bass simply by turning the tone knob almost completely off, and its an easy and effective way to pull the top end down to make way for vocals and solos by other instruments in a band. Never forget that the bass is a SUPPORT instrument... part of the foundation that is the rhythm section. I also like the fact that they've made the high-mass bridge a standard part of the American made P-basses... now I don't have to buy one of those "fatfinger" gizmos and stick it on my headstock to eliminate wolf tones and the like. The industry standard bass guitar for a little over a grand that will most certainly outlive you. The only bass you'll ever need.

Comments about Fender American Standard Precision Bass Left-Handed:

So this bass is awesome. Sounds amazing. Plays and feels absolutely beautiful. Looks amazing. I have big hands so I prefer the fatter neck the Precision bass has. The only thing that I can think of to complain about this bass is, when playing in a seated position there is a bit of neck dive (the headstock is big and heavy so the neck kind of feels like it wants to fall down a bit). It's not even really an issue compared to other basses out there, but I had to mention it. But it's not an issue when standing and using a strap, sitting and wearing a strap wouldn't be an issue either, and it is nice and light when standing. Considering buying another at some point for a back up bass. Sucks they don't make the MIM ones anymore. Kind of annoying to have to drop 13 hundred on a back up bass, it is top quality though.

Comments about Fender American Standard Precision Bass Left-Handed:

Best bass on the market. Always has been. There's no more versatile bass on the market. This is quality product hands down. I don't know about these other guys who, "had problems" because Fender stands behind their products 100%, and if the instrument was truly flawed? Fender would replace it. And anybody who knows anything about bass, knows that. If you're looking for a World-class, professional instrument that will last several lifetimes over? This is it. Without question.

Comments about Fender American Standard Precision Bass Left-Handed:

I love this bass. All basses need a little setting up to make them perfect. All I had to do was raise one string at the bridge and it was perfect. Mine came with perfect intonation. The tone on this bass is so musical, it blends and compliments whatever I play to. It can also cut with a twist of the tone knob if need be. Buy this bass!

This is the one. The standard by which all other basses are judged. Punchy, amazing tone, cool classic looks, this is my go to bass most of the time. So simple and easy to play. Seriously cool instrument.
