Comments about Paiste 2002 Ride Cymbal:
A beautiful responsive and bright cymbal. I got this at a local drum shop knowing that I wanted a bright ride wit a piercing bell, and this has it all. Also the cymbal has a great loud full crash sound for a fantastic end to epic drums fills etc. in my opinion of you have the money and are looking for a responsive , bright, and beautiful hand crafted cymbal this is a defiant try!

Comments about Paiste 2002 Ride Cymbal:
This cymbal takes alot of thought to describe. This is not really the sort of ride I would seek out or choose as my main baby. I already own a 2002 22" Power Ride, but got a good deal on this 20" Ride, and was wanting another Paiste, but not as big and bold, and a little more sporty in size. There is a brightness to this cymbal that can almost be described as a sizzle, which could easily be off-putting, but once you learn how to work it, it becomes an appealing characteristic. The bell can be extremely sharp unless you hit the sweet spot, but the sweet spot is quite sweet. The ping is less pronounced and more washy than the Power Ride, making it a candidate for some jazz playing, I think. I believe the crash sound is terrific, and a really strong feature of the cymbal. It's a light, airy, and shimmery crash sound, that you can get by hitting different parts of the cymbal with the shoulder of the stick while riding. I think it sounds best with lighter wood-tipped sticked such as Vic Firth HD4. I generally prefer a ride with a stronger stick attack, but the overall features of this cymbal make it fun to play, with lots of character. I first tried this in a store, and was not expecting to like it, but the more I played it, the more I really began to understand its appeal. If you like a brighter, somewhat washy ride sound, with a good bell and shimmery crash, go for this one.

This is my favorite ride cymbal. It is bold, bright and clear with a beautiful high resonance.
Comments about Paiste 2002 Ride Cymbal:
Great bell. Looks great except for the huge size of the 24". I realize others may love that. Has the feel of a sheet cymbal, pretty thick and heavy in appearance, feel and sound. Great rock cymbal but that's about all. It's called medium-heavy and that describes it's sound pretty well. It has a near-ping ride sound with lots of overtones and moderate sustain. The biggest downside for me is a l-o-u-d, low-pitched undertone that almost overcomes the rest of the sound of the cymbal (from the drummer's throne at least, don't know about audience or recording). I got a great deal on mine new. Absolutely not worth the regular price IMHO.
The bell on the 24" is the best I've ever heard or hit ... and I've had a bunch of mostly Zildjian rides in 46 years of playing. Looks good. Too big to be practical. The rest is pretty average.
Looked perfect upon arrival unlike many high-end Zildjians that are flawed from the factory. The two 2002 crashes I got also arrived in perfect condition.
Way too expensive for what you get. It's got the feel and sound (other than the great bell) of a really good, cheap sheet cymbal.

Comments about Paiste 2002 Ride Cymbal:
Totally love this line of cymbals, beautfiul to look at, pleasure to play everyday, and just sound sweet.
I'm in love with this ride after owning it for almost an entire year now. Started off with building my set up with 2002 hi-hats, then got a 24in 2002 ride and my god it makes me happy. The ping, bell, the glossy but musical and tonal sounds it makes just blow me away still. At first I was a bit hesitant on my choice of the 24in because it gets LOUD if you really start going at it. But honestly, I've learned to totally just go with it and have gotten some truly unique, though loud recordings from just wailing on it while playing. Sounds killer for all types of music really, if you're going for a super "organic" sounding cymbal I wouldn't recommend this though, it's very bright, in your face, and loud.
Only owned it for a year, but not a sign of cracking, denting, or even stick marks and I play every day for a few hours hard.
Bought mine on eBay for a much better price than MF, but that was a lucky deal. Cymbals these days are outrageous IMO for the price but if you want it and it's the sound you're going for, there's no alternative.
Comments about Paiste 2002 Ride Cymbal:
This ride is superb. I decided to get the 24" and never regreted dishing out that much cash for it. It attracts so much attention at every gig I go to, real show stealer. The bell is very sharp and pierces through everything else. Even when I use it just as an accent while riding on my Paiste fast crash. Which if you've never heard those before are extremely loud. The sound range on it is also pure quality. It produces a brighter ping sound towards the middle and a beautiful dark sound on the outer edge. Plus there is nothing better than using this ride as a powerful crash. Before this I had a 22" Sabian D8. It was just garbage compared to this. Because 24" is less common size don't expect to walk into any music store and find a case for it. Only down side. One major gripe I had about this cymbal was it being damaged when I got it out of the box. The rim was bent and it was extremely hard to replace it for a new one.

This cymbal is worth every penny and I couldn't be any happier with it. I own a 24" and it's just perfect. Also, There's not a chance on it cracking unless your one who tries your hardest to break your cymbals with every strike.
Comments about Paiste 2002 Ride Cymbal:
I bought this specific Ride when it was new on the market back in 1985. It sill looks exactly the same. This has the best overall sound in a Ride Cymbal you can ask for. Very versatile, I play Jazz, Rock, Fusion, Country and this thing works for all these styles no problem. Has a pingy sound to it especially with plastic regal tipped sticks, the bell is very loud too, you can accent off beats for funky stuff great with this thing. I traded in my 22" Zildjian ride because it just rang forever. The sustain on this cymbal is average, not too long or too short either, just right for me. It has stood up to time, I have owned the same one for over 25 years now, still sounds awesome. I highly recommend this cymbal for anyone looking to get versatility from their Ride cymbal, this has a great sound range and capabilities. 5 Stars all the way around!

Why do I even waste my time wrighting a reveiw I followed all guide lines and wrote a very informative review. that I would of liked to read before making a purchase and you don't put it up but you put one up that says "owned this for a while 24" pay the price buy it" Owned what it didn't name the product or any revelent things. I will never waste my time again.
