This is DEFINITELY a solid cymbal, however, in my lineup of Paiste Alphas and pst5 Thin Crashes, it does not cut through and isn't as loud as the rest. For this reason, I use mine as a Crash/Ride and it works perfectly for that. I've had it for about probably a year now and it has very few marks or anything on it and, like I said, it is a very solid and good cymbal for beginners. If you're looking for a crash/ride but don't want to buy an expensive one and have crashes that are louder and cut through very well, buy this for that reason. Perfect cymbal for what I ask it to do and I love it.

I bought the 14" crash and was immediately dissapointed with the sound. I have no idea how the 16" sounds, but from what I hear it's a little better. I busted my hi hat top and subbed this in until I could afford a new one. I haven't bought a new since I put it on top of my un-cracked hi hat bottom and I'll tell you why. Where this crash lacks in crashing (I love quick decay but this thing just dies, quicker than an HCS 8" splash) it makes up for in riding/hatting (if you'll excuse the term). It creates a nice wash paired with a medium heavy bottom, a good sizzle when shut partially, and even a decent chick when closed. If you'd like to experiment with that, go for it, it's not too much of a dent in the wallet. If you want an inexpensive crash please find one that isn't so cheap. There's the PST5, the Zildjian ZBTs, Sabian B8, Meinl HCS, Dream cymbals, and dozens of others.

Comments about Paiste PST 3 Crash:
I read the reviews and wanted to give it a shot, but this is a worthless crash. It sounds crapper then my sabian crash thats cracked. This has no sound but a flat dry metal thud. I would not recommend this to anyone at all. It's pathetic.

One great product.
Got this great amazing fantastic cymbal. I'm simply BLOWN away by how great it is. I mean this cymbal sounds better than some high end cymbals, and believe me, I know. it doesn't sustain for so long that by the time you finish rehearsal its still ringing. Its sustain is pretty short, just how I like it.
After a while I saw bits of the coating disappearing, but it wont dent or crack. Great thing.
Buy it, its worth it.
Comments about Paiste PST 3 Crash:
i havent tried out the others but the 14 in crash sounds good at first but after a couple of months it starts to sound bad. if you are a starter who has a really tight budget get it but if you are loking for somthing with beter value and sound get a zijian zbt or a sabian b8. this cymbol will do fine for a while bu you might want to evanually replace it
Comments about Paiste PST 3 Crash:
I bought these cymbals (14", 16", 18", 10" [splash], and 14" hi-hats) just because i just started playing and i got them also because they were cheap but they turned out pretty good compared to the sabian b8's. the only thing i dont like about this line of cymbals is the 14" isnt loud compared to the others so you usually have to hit it with another cymbal unless your just looking for a quick little crash
Comments about Paiste PST 3 Crash:
first of all i was a little skeptical because you know its paiste pst 3 which ive heard sound bad or crack bad. but since i spent all my money on a drum kit and had to sell my previous kit and cymbals i was forced to get this. im so glad i chose this because my 3 options were zildjian zbt, meinl hcs, or paiste pst 3. i dont think either could compare to this thing in sound. i mean its no a custom or aax but it gets the job done and it real realiable to stick around for a while until you get new cymbals.
Comments about Paiste PST 3 Crash:
its a good cymbal unless you play it live at high volumes. it just cant cut through like a good zil. k custom can.
Comments about Paiste PST 3 Crash:
This cymbal is okay for a beginner. Although, i would recommend Meinl HCS or Sabian B8. This crash doesn't seem to be loud and it feels cheap. Not a very good cymbal, but if on a tight budget, go ahead and get it. Meinl HCS is still better in my opinion
