This is DEFINITELY a solid cymbal, however, in my lineup of Paiste Alphas and pst5 Thin Crashes, it does not cut through and isn't as loud as the rest. For this reason, I use mine as a Crash/Ride and it works perfectly for that. I've had it for about probably a year now and it has very few marks or anything on it and, like I said, it is a very solid and good cymbal for beginners. If you're looking for a crash/ride but don't want to buy an expensive one and have crashes that are louder and cut through very well, buy this for that reason. Perfect cymbal for what I ask it to do and I love it.

the sole purpose of buying this series of cymbal was to use them as touring and practice sessions. i do own and am a hardcore paiste fan. i do have the fancier alphas and 2002 series but those are used for big shows and bands. obviously i couldnt resist comparing them to the better series and these guys have a flat and short sound. one thing i do like for the price is the looks and durability in the pst's. ive let other bands use these and in the crowd as i mentioned before they look good and can hear them pretty well with all instruments in a live set. im pretty satisfied with my purchase as i bought a 14 and 16 inch. i am also considering a 18 china and possible ride but am not in a hurry of buying them. for the price it is a good investment and for being a bronze material, it looks good as welll as sounds average. also a bad note is the 14 inch has a very short and sweet sound once hit vs. the 16, so i do recommend the 16. in all, im happy with my purchase and had these guys for about 6 months and still has its shine. it does have light scratches from constant live performances but can easily be treated with cleaners and conditioners.

Sounded terrible, had to return....

Comments about Paiste PST 3 Crash:

It is difficult to buy cymbals on the internet. This one was not even close to what I had hoped for. Sent it back for a refund. Guess I will stick to buying from a local music store (and paying more).

Comments about Paiste PST 3 Crash:

The genre I play is indie rock. I've had this cymbal for about three years, but soon after I started using it, I switched it out for a heavier crash. This is because this cymbal has a very fast decay, doesn't cut through other sounds, and has a thin, trebly tone that isn't what I was going for.

Then, about six months ago, I decided to expand my kit a bit, and I gave this guy another go. As a secondary crash, it's PERFECT. It's got more presence than a splash would, and does a great job of adding variety to fills.

So, as your only crash: awful! As a secondary crash: great!

Would have been cheaper to get a pot.

Comments about Paiste PST 3 Crash:

I read the reviews and wanted to give it a shot, but this is a worthless crash. It sounds crapper then my sabian crash thats cracked. This has no sound but a flat dry metal thud. I would not recommend this to anyone at all. It's pathetic.

        Paiste PST 3 16'' Crash

Comments about Paiste PST 3 Crash:

        One great product.
Got this great amazing fantastic cymbal. I'm simply BLOWN away by how great it is. I mean this cymbal sounds better than some high end cymbals, and believe me, I know. it doesn't sustain for so long that by the time you finish rehearsal its still ringing. Its sustain is pretty short, just how I like it.
After a while I saw bits of the coating disappearing, but it wont dent or crack. Great thing.
        Buy it, its worth it.

        14 in sucks

Comments about Paiste PST 3 Crash:

i havent tried out the others but the 14 in crash sounds good at first but after a couple of months it starts to sound bad. if you are a starter who has a really tight budget get it but if you are loking for somthing with beter value and sound get a zijian zbt or a sabian b8. this cymbol will do fine for a while bu you might want to evanually replace it

        Pretty Good

        By conman30

Comments about Paiste PST 3 Crash:

I bought these cymbals (14", 16", 18", 10" [splash], and 14" hi-hats) just because i just started playing and i got them also because they were cheap but they turned out pretty good compared to the sabian b8's. the only thing i dont like about this line of cymbals is the 14" isnt loud compared to the others so you usually have to hit it with another cymbal unless your just looking for a quick little crash
