A refreshing look at Korg's best-selling microKEY Series.
With all of the endless options, configurations, and choices that modern technology offers musicians today, in the end, the simplest solution is often the best solution. An uncomplicated, straightforward design, compact size, and easy connectivity made the first-generation microKEY series a bestseller. Now Korg's second-generation microKEY lineup retains those attributes and adds iPad and iPhone support (with Lightning - USB camera adaptor), plus a damper pedal jack for improved playability.
In all, the microKEY series has evolved to become even more convenient and versatile, making it an ideal choice for first-time and more established players alike. Whether you’re producing in the studio, or creating on the go, the microKEY will give you exactly what you need – and nothing you don’t.

Comments about Korg microKEY2 61-Key Compact MIDI Keyboard:
This Keyboard was exactly what I wanted, a lot of keys in a little space. I had been using a full-size 88-key midi controller, but found I hardly ever used the uppermost and bottommost octaves anyway. This compact keyboard has 61 velocity-responsive weighted keys and takes up just over half the length, width, and depth of my full sized one. I am using it for software synths and it does a great job and is very responsive to velocity nuances.
The keys are of course smaller than a full size piano but it only took me a day to get used to them. If you have extra large fingers you may have difficulty and end up pressing keys unintentionally. However on the bright side, I can now play massive-spanning chords with one hand, as well as reach the entire breadth of the keyboard without spreading my arms wide at all, the whole span is directly in front of me. If you have average, slender, or smaller hands, or if you have even a modest amount of experience playing, you will adapt quickly to the size of this keyboard with no troubles. If you have giant polish sausage fingers, I wouldnt recommend this keyboard to you.
The Korg MicroKey 61 has freed up a lot of space on my desk and is truly portable, I can see this being great with a laptop or iPad on-the-go. The box it comes in is also worth keeping, it has a nice nylon handle so you can transport it in its own little case, which is a very nice touch from Korg.
All in all I am glad I downsized and reclaimed some desktop real estate, and the smaller size of the keys has allowed me to play complex chords more comfortably, and play chords I would not have been able to manage at all on a full-sized keyboard.
