nice things first, i've never broke one of these strings playing them and I play really fast every string brand will break at the machine heads every now and then so i wont complain about that, sure they die quick and lose newness fast but the bright clean sound you get out of them is worth it, they're cheap , individually wrapped and the only way they can improve is color coding the strings like D'Addario. These I'm moving away from as styles change but trying various sizes of these they havent let me down. We're paying for what we're getting which I've mentioned and if you switch strings every 2 weeks these are for you , I play 3+ hours a day to come up with the every 2 weeks thing but I do recommend these much more than fender super bullets , no name brands like Agile has and Long and Mcquades cheap brands.
I'm giving the features a 5 for the fact that there is 6 strings in it! yeah that and they're individually packed with the string sizes on them like D'Addario , Dean Markley and so forth.
I had the worst experience with these the first time around the high E (a 12) broke when I put it on the first time i put grover tuners on my a guitar and didn't look at these for at least 2-4 years , yet the loyalty some have to these strings is incredible, I've bought way more packs of them but still to be honest they don't stay new sounding as long as the other brands out , they go dead sounding faster to my ears as well as a few friends quicker than most brands that are name brand
we're paying for what we're getting , these strings are great for harmonics , a very bright sound so if you're playing a maple necked guitar and afraid of those dastardly steel strings like blue steel strings (nothing wrong with regular dean markleys) these are for you. They sound great in other tunings besides standard which is crutial and hold their tuning pretty well on fixed bridge guitars.

Slinky are interesting strings, having in mind they are one of rare companies who have specially made strings for detuning. That was always attracting to me. I have bought many of their products, including those made for detuning and these regular. Strings are cheap and affordable. But If I compare them to, say, Blue Steel, I can definitely hear and feel the difference. After some time playing Slinky, strings loose their tone a bit, and coating falls off from thiner strings, which irritates me a lot, but doesn't change the sound. So in the end, they are not so good quality and they don't last long, but are interesting to me, and that is strange. I even bought 12 string set for my 12 electric guitar and those strings lasted even shorter, in sound and coating fell of pretty quickly. They would be really GREAT strings if they would combine with quality of blue steel, but I am afraid that is not in their interest, cause, hey, you have to buy new strings each week. The same thing told me in the shop. Well, you know, Blue Steel, you pay - you get---more than a week. Actually, as time passes, they sound more and more better. So there you go. I recommend Blue Steel.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2221 Nickel Regular Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:
These are my every-day strings of choice. I break strings a lot and these sound good for about 20-30 hours, before which I usually break one. The pricey ones like blue steel break almost as often, so I go with these as they're the most affordable decent-sounding strings I have found. Also, my local music store has only EB's available singly, so if I break say my A string after 4 hours with a new set, I can just slap another one on without raiding my full sets. If you rarely break or change strings, recommend you go for blue steel or similar.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2221 Nickel Regular Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:
I've been playing for a living for nearly 10 years and I've tried a lot of different strings but I've pretty much settled on these. For the price range they are a real work-horse. I've been through hundreds of sets of these strings.
If you wipe them down each night they can last through a week of real gigging without losing too much of the "fresh strings" tone.
They don't break unless you really abuse them. They stay tough unless you sweat all over them without wiping them down or leave them on until the get bent/bumpy on the side that faces the frets.
Also I've been through enough boxes of the comparable sets of D'Addario and GHS to tell you how they compare... the D'Addarios are inconsistent: sometimes wavy out of the package and will break. GHS sound great for one gig but just don't stay alive even if you keep them clean.

These are the best electric guitar strings I have ever used. They last forever and I honestly don't think I've ever broken a single string in the entire time I've been using them. Excellent tone and feel to them, and for a good price.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2221 Nickel Regular Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:
I've tried these strings a couple of times. I play rock music nothing rough or hard picking and these strings break after a few hrs use. I only break strings when I use this brand. The bass player in my band has had the same problem with Ernie ball strings as well. Save youself some trouble and try a different brand.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2221 Nickel Regular Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:
I hear users complain about these strings sounding dull! That's what's so great about these strings. They sound like doo doo for the first day or so and then wwoooowwww... a dead string! I like a flat sounding string that's broke in because that's apart of the sound. Great tube amp with juicy tube recipe, great playing-sounding guitar, and skill that you can't buy are your basic needs that are required for this great string that only the whose who use and need! If you want to be a Drug Store Cowboy trying to be a guitar king then here ya go.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2221 Nickel Regular Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:
after my 4 year old broke the high E string it dawned on me that I had been rockin really hard on these things for almost 5 months. The stability of tuning is amazing, I'm a whammy freak at times and my Floyd is not in the best shape but when i wail and bend these things for an hour or so I only drop intonation by a slight turn of the tuner. Excellent tone, a master jazz player was jammin on my Jackson and thought it sounded absolutely beautiful, and they rock with plenty of sustain....just buy em!
