I have been using these strings for 35 years now and while they aren't everybody's cup of tea, they are great stings. For doing bends and stretches you won't find a string that will do it easier. But when you are using these they do take a light touch. If you are used to slamming your chords and using alot of pressure on your notes these will reflect that in your sound. These are for more precise playing.
Keep in mind that these are EXTRA Light Gauge, the thinest strings made and they flex like none other. If you are finding that the heavy or regular gauge strings are giving you trouble when doing bends and stretches then these are a good option to try.
If you can use more control in your style you will find that very fast, smooth runs are possible with these strings without nearly as much effort as with the heavier gauges. They also stand up to abuse better because they are more flexable.
Heavy Metal doesn't necessarily mean Heavy Gauge either, Toni Iommi (Black Sabbath) uses light gauge strings to get his sound with and many people use them even in extreme drop tuning. It's really a matter of taste and playing style.
I would also recommend that you make sure your pickups are around 3/8" or so from your strings. I have found that having them too close effects the sound because the magnets tend to pull on the strings and cause the harmonic tuning to sound off when it isn't. Having them close doesn't make them sound louder either because they don't work like a mic, they work by exciting the magnetic field.

I bought these strings expecting light strings that were easy to blaze across. I got what I was looking for times eight! That isn't even a good thing by any regards, because I am a heavy picker. I realized that when I bought these strings. I played these strings so hard that I'd need to retune after ever hour or so playing. It got so bad that after awhile the low E started to sound like a rubber band! These strings are perfect if you don't beat the hell out of your guitar when you play it, but if you're looking for fast solo's to hard metal songs, go for a thicker gauge string, because playing the hard parts to those songs will wear these strings down.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2225 Nickel Extra Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:
Ernie Ball Extra Slinky guitar strings provide a pleasant tone and allow for sick, 3-step bends. Their choice to pair the .008" E with a 0.011" B and 0.014" G allows for some nice, nearly progressive tension (which gets regressive at the low E, but we get what we get).
Their high E has already outlasted the high E on sets of Super Slinky and Regular Slinky strings I've used in the past (and it's not a string I use much more than the other 5).
Their only negative for me; and it's just personal preference; is that they're not a swirling vortex of high harmonics that produces pinch-harmonics with preternatural ease and demands that the tone knob be rolled back when using a bridge or neck humbucker. For that, Dunlop Reverend Willy's Mexican Lottery Brand extra-light strings is the clear winner. But I can trade that tempest of squealing, little piggies for strings that DON'T go tight; terribly loose; even looser; acceptable; acceptable; acceptable as they increase in thickness. Those 2-3 extra picograms/millimeter to get a squeal are worth the added sanity.
So other than the "ugh, they made me work the tiniest wee bit," the Ernie Ball Extra Slinky guitar strings offer a great sound at a great price.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2225 Nickel Extra Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:
These are awesome. I love how easily I can bend notes. I'm a beginner so that means something. Playing on strings this light for the first time is crazy because i felt like i only barely had to touch the strings. I recommend trying a set out. be very careful putting them on the first time, they are super thin.
