I have used these cables for about six months now. At first they did fail after a little use. I then unscrewed the ends and found that one of the wires had pulled free from the end connection. This was clearly because the strain relief prongs on that end had not been wrapped properly around the insulating cable. As a result, any stress on the cable transferred directly to the electrical connection instead of to the strain relief prongs. After re-soldering the wires I pushed the rubber insulation better into position so that the strain relief prongs could do their job, and then squeezed the prongs secuely onto the rubber cable. I have since used them many times with no problem. Nor do I have any issue with the sound of my instrument while using them. If you buy these cables save yourself an untimely headache and check the connections and strain relief right away. It would appear to me that the problems people have had with these cables failing might well be a matter of quality control rather than quality itself.

There is way too much buzz, they kink up faster than a garden hose, and they messed up the jack on my Stratocaster. My dad bought threee and he hates them. Take my advice: if you're going to buy a cheap, no-frills, effective cable, then look some more. Don't make my mistake.

This cord has been very good for the price. The only minor "problem" is that the ends unscrew very easily, but that has never interfered with my playing.

I used this cable for about three months of daily practice at home and today it quit working. The negative conductor had come loose from the terminal. I re-soldered it and clipped the jacket back into the retainers, and now it works fine. Three months, though? That's pitiful.
