Elektron Outbox 8 Audio/CV Breakout Box and USB Interface

Expand an existing Elektron setup, modular rig or computer-based production system with eight configurable outputs using the Elektron Outbox 8 audio/CV breakout box and USB interface. Its eight impedance-balanced, DC-coupled 1/4" outputs can carry audio or CV in combinations tailored to your setup, opening individual routing paths for external mixers, effects and other hardware while also supporting control of modular and CV-capable instruments. Outbox 8 works with Elektron Overbridge-enabled units, USB class-compliant MIDI devices and many USB class-compliant audio devices. It can also operate as an eight-output USB audio interface for a computer, tablet or phone, making it a flexible connection point between software, Elektron hardware and external audio or CV gear.

Eight Configurable Outputs for Audio and CV

Eight impedance-balanced, DC-coupled 1/4" outputs give Outbox 8 the flexibility to handle audio, CV or a combination of both. With a compatible Elektron device, individual tracks or submixes can be routed to separate outputs for external mixing, effects processing or performance setups. Assign outputs to CV and the same hardware can send pitch, gate, trig, linear value or clock signals to modular systems and other CV-controllable gear. The outputs use 48kHz, 32-bit D/A conversion and provide a CV output range of +/-5V.

Connect MIDI and CV Hardware Over USB

Outbox 8 can also function as a dedicated USB MIDI-to-CV interface, translating MIDI data into control signals for modular and other CV-capable instruments. Use an Elektron machine to play, sequence, modulate or synchronize connected CV hardware, or connect a compatible USB MIDI controller for direct control. Support for pitch V/oct, pitch Hz/V, value lin, trig, gate and clock signals provides multiple ways to integrate MIDI sequencing and performance control with CV-based equipment.

USB Audio Interface for Computers and Devices

Connected to a computer, tablet or phone, Outbox 8 operates as an eight-output USB audio interface for routing DAW channels to mixers, effects, monitors and other external hardware. Its USB 2.0 High-Speed Type-C data port supports dual-role data and power, while a separate USB Type-C input handles power when required. Compatibility extends to Elektron Overbridge-enabled units, USB class-compliant MIDI devices and many USB class-compliant audio devices, giving the Elektron Outbox 8 breakout box and USB interface several roles across hardware- and software-based production setups.
