Comments about GHS A270 Phosphor Bronze Mandolin Strings:

I've been playing mandolin over twenty years. Went through several brands of strings and had been satisfied for about 15 years with the GHS PF270's (Bright Bronze) until a local mandolin luthier turned me on to the A270's (Phosphor Bronze) strings. These really made a difference in tone with my mandolins including the mandolin recently built for me. PF270's give that "bright tone/sound", A270's gives the "warmer tone" but still provides that cutting edge sound when playing more driving tunes and leads. Speaking from experience I highly recommend this set of strings.

Proud user of A270's

Comments about GHS A270 Phosphor Bronze Mandolin Strings:

I've been a user of GHS PF270 (Bright Bronze) strings for over twenty years. I had a custom F5 mandolin built for me this past Summer by a luthier who had turned me on to using GHS A270 (Phosphor Bronze). Both are sized in the same guages. The Phosphor Bronze has that "warm" mellow sound for "laid back" tunes but still delivers that "punch" needed for the more "driving" bluegrass tunes. If you're a Bright Bronze (PF270)user try the Phosphor Bronze (A270's). Not to be knocking the PF270's. I've loved using them over the years but I haven't went back to the PF270's since! Highly recommended!
