Comments about Gibson 500kOhm Potentiometer Audio Taper/Push-Pull/Short Shaft:

Come on, Gibson -- I got this push/pull pot hoping for good quality and a nice taper. Instead, I get a pot that reads so far under spec -- 438K instead of 500K (or higher) that it's useless to me. I'm not going to let this cheap part ruin the sound of my expensive Throbaks!

Folks, save your money -- just throw a blanket over your amp for the same effect.

It's like having two guitars in one.

Comments about Gibson 500kOhm Potentiometer Audio Taper/Push-Pull/Short Shaft:

It is a bit of work rewiring everything to split your humbuckers but, it is worth the effort to have all the different combinations of humbucker and single coil without changing the appearance of your ax at all. I went with Gibson push/pull pots to match the Gibson '57 Classic and a Burstbucker 3 I put in. The pickups sound awesome and with the two push/pull pots wired to split the coils you can switch from Page to Hendrix in the blink of an eye.
DPDT switch good for splitting humbuckers, switching phase, kill switch etc...
Should be used with humbuckers (not single coils) since they are 500k.
Pots spin very smoothly. Switch is easy to pull, no special knobs required.
If you know how to solder it's a cheap way to make a big difference.

Comments about Gibson 500kOhm Potentiometer Audio Taper/Push-Pull/Short Shaft:

I'm a huge Gibson enthusiast, but I'm disappointed in this pot. You could get something just as good or even better for half the cost. The only advantage to these is that they are a genuine Gibson part, so if you're seeking continuity then go ahead and buy these. The pots work smoothly and quietly, but they seem sort of cheap. The knob turns with less resistance than the original pots in my Gibson SG, the switch is so tall that it presses up against the body plate and warps it a bit when it is screwed down, and the metal casing is easy to bend. Really, just buy a pot from someone else. Don't spend twice as much on this one just because it says Gibson on the package.

Comments about Gibson 500kOhm Potentiometer Audio Taper/Push-Pull/Short Shaft:

I bought 4 of these to do the J.P. wiring in my '17 Gibby and what is Gibson thinking putting their name on these?! These come in actual Gibson packaging, the black shrink wrapped cardboard with the part showing through the shrink wrap but what's this? ........the pots say "ALPHA" on them!!! Seriously? I almost fell outta my workshop chair when I saw this! I just bought FOUR of these overpriced ALPHA pots because THE PACKAGING SAID GIBSON??!! I immediately got out a Dimarzio push/pull pot and compare them. The rebranded alpha pot felt noticeably cheaper & lighter than the Dimarzio one which costs about half as much. Gibson should be ashamed of this terrible underhanded, deceptive, false-advertised, switcheroo. I lost a whole lot of respect for Gibson on that day.
