Comments about Gibson G700L Brite Wires Electric Guitar Strings - Light:

I've used lots of strings over the last 40 years, Slinky's (which are good), GHS, etc. but I tried a set of these about 16 years ago and have stuck with them. I still try others, but come back to the Gibson strings. For country/blues with lots of bending and abuse, they have stood up better than any other string and still sound good. Using on Teles and Strats, but have on Pauls as well. Nice ring with single coils. And yes, once you stretch them just a little, they stay in tune even with lots of bending. Rock solid strings for a working musician.

        Very happy with these strings...

Comments about Gibson G700L Brite Wires Electric Guitar Strings - Light:

For the new guys like me who are tired of having a crummy sounding guitar but not knowing what to do about it ...try these strings!

I'm running an epiphone sg with gibson burstbuckers through a fender tube amp...not a bad situation but still couldn't get an appealling sound. Was looking at replacing the epihone with a new gibson or the fender with a marshall but thought I would try these strings first as they had such good reviews and don't cost anywhere near as much as a new guitar or amp...bye bye gibson/marshall (for now)!

I've tried various sets of strings in the past. Of which, some were clearly more appealling than others but none clearly stood out or improved the sound of the guitar all that much. These gibson strings are a different story though....clear, powerful, slick....and cheap.

So if you're new like I am and having trouble getting your guitar to get a good rock/metal sound, give these strings a try.

Comments about Gibson G700L Brite Wires Electric Guitar Strings - Light:

I had bought about 8 different sets of strings for some experiments I had to carry out for my physics project and the Brite wires were the last set I had to test so I decided to leave them on my Jackson JS30KE. 6 months after, I recorded something for a contest and the sound is still so professional! Unbelievable! The words that come to me when describing these strings are durability, strength, consistency and professional tone. I don't play everyday, but maybe around 6 hours a week but the feel remained incredibly consistent although they aren't as flexible and bendable as DR High Voltage which I also tested for my experiments, but I got used to them quickly (my finger strengh improved) and they just adapted to my style without any problems; I change a lot from standard E to drop D and they hold their tuning, they deliver the chugging sound, pinch harmonics and they howl when pushed hard. What surprised me the most was that they did not break at whatever punishment I threw at them; hard picking, careless fast strumming, temperature changes, hand sweat, different tunings, exteme bends etc... Not the most flexible strings out there, but incredibly consistent and solid in tone and durability.

        Wow!

Comments about Gibson G700L Brite Wires Electric Guitar Strings - Light:

I just purchased a Les Paul Studio with these on them. I USED to play strictly Elixirs and nothing else. I assumed the strings on my LP were old, so I replaced them with the only strings I had on hand which where Elixir .09's (I use them on my Strats). Anyways, I was very disappointed. The LP obv still sounded amazing, but was missing some of that LP Growl. I quickly went and bought these and I am happy to say the LP is back to barking. I never thought strings would make such a HUGE difference. Bottom line- if you have a Les Paul, buy these strings. End of story.

These strings came with my SG Special and I really liked them but took them for granted. The first time I changed strings to something else, it was a major disappointment. I immediately wanted the brite wires back. Ernie Ball is NO Subsitute.

I have these strings on my faded SG special. I have never had any strings better than these. I always heard that gibson had a good name in strings so I tried them. Needless to say, they were the best I ever had. I have tried elixir, ernie ball, daddario, and send a couple other brands and they just didn't cut it. These have the best tone and strength quality.

These strings were standard issue on 2003 Les Paul Studio. These are far superior to most strings on the market today. They very bright sounding and stay in tune extremely well. I would not use any other string on my electrics.

Comments about Gibson G700L Brite Wires Electric Guitar Strings - Light:

These strings sound and play great! However, they just aren't for me. The strings faithfully capture a classic Gibson-like humbucker tone. The problem is, I play Kramer and Fender super-Strats! I would recommend these strings to other users, and may even recycle them for my brother's Casino.Overall, they are truly a step-up from Ernie Ball Regular Slinkys.

Recommended for Epiphone Les Pauls. (We know they are acoustically a little dull-sounding compared to Gibsons.) With the right pickup, brings out the harmonic overtones. Bought the gauge 10 - 46. They have the feel/tension I like for standard tuning, which is a little stiff when strummed but bends easy. A Gibson string for a Les Paul-- makes sense. These are almost impossible to find in stores now. Thanks MF for such a great deal!

Comments about Gibson G700L Brite Wires Electric Guitar Strings - Light:

I had a friend a while back with 2 guitars, a Les Paul and a Strat...he told me he used Gibson strings for the Les Paul, Fender strings for the Strat, so I thought hmmmmm, okay... I don't think that's the best situation, since honestly its my belief that fender strings are teetotal bull..., but I just nodded my head to him to say "Hey, makes sense!!" But really it doesn't... I have been using either Ernie Ball 10s or Gibson britewires 10s since they came out back in the late 80s/early 90s and have never had a single complaint against either one...I've even used britewires on my strat, and honestly can tell a major difference between fender strings and britewires, fenders just suck to me, they go dead waaay too soon... I honestly think nobody can go wrong with britewires....but, then again, it depends on weather, humidity, sweat, body oils, etc., yadda, yadda, yadda, the thing, the thing, the thing,.....blah, blah, blah, etc....
