Makes tuning 7-string and long-scale guitars plus 6-string basses a cinch.
The Korg GA-30 Guitar/Bass Tuner is a high-precision LCD needle-type meter. Unique Korg feature lets you tune down to 5 semitones flat. Internal speaker produces tuning reference tone. High-sensitivity internal mic for tuning acoustic guitars. Auto power off and low power draw for very long battery life.
An Easy-to-Use Dedicated Guitar and Bass Tuner BR>
This dedicated guitar/bass tuner lets you select either Guitar mode or Bass mode for truly easy operation with automatically detected pitch. The wide detection range supports 7-string guitar (7B through 1E) in Guitar mode, and 6-string bass (Low-B, Hi-C) in Bass mode. A high-sensitivity mic is built-in, allowing easy and accurate tuning of acoustic guitars.
Ultra-compact Body with a "Tilt Slit" BR>
Although the GA-30 is small, thin, and light, don't let its pocket-sized body fool you. The GA-30 can accurately tune any guitar or bass. From studio to stage, tuning is easy and convenient. The back of the unit includes a unique arc-shaped "tilt slit" that lets you insert a plastic card for use as a handy stand.
High-Precision LCD Meter BR>
The meter section uses a LCD needle, combining the accuracy of an LCD with the easy visibility of a needle, and providing a stable display. Additional visual feedback is provided by LEDs that indicate pitch deviation.
Sound Out -- Internal Speaker Provides a Reference Pitch BR>
In addition to visual tuning via meter, the GA-30 can play reference pitches from its internal speaker (Sound Out) for tuning by ear. Each press of the Sound switch will cycle the output sound through 7B->6E->5A->4D->3G->2B->1E in Guitar mode, or LB->4E->3A->2D->1G->HC in Bass mode.
Quinta Flat Tuning mode -- a world-wide first! BR>
The GA-30's Quinta Flat Tuning mode supports the lowered tunings used in heavy metal styles to give more weight to the sound. Until now, dedicated guitar tuners have supported a maximum of only four semitones below standard pitch, but the GA-30 gives you five steps of flatted tuning, extending as far as five semitones below standard pitch, and supporting even super-long scale guitars that are five frets longer than conventional guitars.
Auto Power Off Function BR>
If you leave the unit powered-on for 20 minutes without performing any operation, the Auto Power Off function will turn the power off automatically, avoiding unnecessary battery consumption.
Approximately 100 hours of continuous use BR>
Low-power consumption design allows an amazing 100 hours (approximate) of continuous battery life (A4 continuous input, Meter mode, zinc-carbon batteries).
* Even if the pitch is within the detection range, detection may not be possible for instrumental sounds that contain a large number of overtones or have a rapid decay.
Korg tuners and metronomes purchased from a Korg USA authorized dealer now have a three year warranty.

First off let me just say I rated this product higher than I probably would have if I had not read some of the previous, maliciously negative reviewers comments & "torpedo like" ratings designed to sink this product.Had there not been so many unfair reviews, I probably would have given the Korg GA-30 solid 8's across the board, but I felt compelled to "adjust" my product rating to help even out the final overall ratings on this fine tuner.Ok now for the review, this is a good tuner, its quick, easy to use, & very accurate.Disclaimer: *If you follow the instructions*Now the negatives, I would have liked an output jack, I would have liked an optional LCD screen backlight, and very rarely, the tuner will fluctuate between 6E & 1E while tuning 6E, but only for a fraction of a second or so.However none of the negatives are even remotely serious "problems" as this tuner does have a built in speaker, no-one that I know tunes their guitars in the dark & only a moron would get "confused" during the .002-.08th of a second that the tuner fluctuates between 6E & 1E in the LCD display while tuning 6E.So while its not perfect, it is a quick, accurate, easy to use tuner at a very good price.

I own two of these tuners. I bought my first one approximately 2 years ago. It was always a little "jumpy" when attempting to tune the high E and B strings (fine, I dealt with it.) However, one day it decided to just stop working. The needle wouldn't move when attempting to tune any string. The pitch/tone feature continued to function, but I prefer the plug in feature. I changed batteries, tried another chord....nothing. Finally, I decided to simply buy another one. It had the same "jumpy" characteristics as the first one. The second one, however, didn't last a week before it decided to simply stop working. Strike two!! Maybe it's time to pony up and get a better tuner.

I got this baby for christmas and I like it. Its a good tuner though it lacks on features. The AA batteries are a little hard to get to & it also doesn't have an output (only input). It in my opinion tunes accurately and is vey compact. For the price i think it is a good buy, but thats my opinion.
This tuner is awesome if you just play at home or garage band. If your actually, giging theres no output jack so you cant just run in through your setup. But otherwise, this thing can tune basses, it can tune down really far, and it gives your sounds of the notes. Good pedal.
this is a great tuner. I can tune it in a noisy room no problem.it works well for me
This tuner isn't the best out there, but for the money its great. It took me a while to get the tone perfect though. Overall its a great value and a good buy for someone on a budget.
This is an excellent tuner. I had to buy another one because mine was stolen. I was not really i dire need has i can usually ear tune or use my piano but this was a great deal. A great tuner for beginners or professionals.
Yes blah. This tuner is horrible. It has no output and the tuning can be way off. I used this tuner then switched to a friends tuner, and I was waaaaay high. It's just ****. It breaks VERY easy too.
MY brother gave me this tuner about a year ago. It is amazing. it tunes very well and is durable(I have dropped it onto hard floors multiple times). I use it mainly on my acoustic guitars and it works perfectly, I have no need to on my electric guitars because my amp has a built in tuner, however I bet it would do fine on my electric guitars as well. The only problem is if you happen to be listeng to music at the same time.. it will pick up the guitar in the song. Great price, you cant beat it.
Brand new guitar, I tune it with this tuner, then double check with the tuner and it says that it is already out of tune. The tuner can't make up it's mind.
This is a great tuner for the peon price. The response is fast and accurate. The 5 flat thing really helps when you low tune like I do.
i've been using this same tuner for over four years now. it has always tuned my guitar faithfully, electric or acoustic to the point that i've never needed to learn tuning by ear. might not be a good thing but the tuner's never let me down so it hasn't been a problem. buy it.
I lost my boss TU-2 so I needed a cheap replacement so I bought this. And it is totally usuable for the price if you are just practicing. I wouldn't use it live though just cuz that's not really what it's for. But I found my Tu-2 and at least now I have another tuner for whatever.
its a pretty good tuner... it's accurate most of the time but you're trying to tune and acustic/electric.. it will get confused from the bass, gain switch on the guitar so you have to set your gain all the way up, and your bass and terrible (and whatever other features you might have) on 0. (try struming the guitar a couple times.. its fun to watch it go back and forth trying to tune all the strings at the same time. (this thing tought me how to tune by ear.. a little bit... )
Wow!! This is one very excellent tuner, especially if you are in a quiet environment for precise tuning. It tells exactly whether my guitar strings are too sharp, too flat, or right in tune. I also think the output jack is great for electric guitar tuning. I highly recommend this tuner to all you guitarits or bassists out there!!
If you are a pro or beginner this is all you need to tune your guitar or bass. I have a peterson srobe and unless you are tuning with keyboards and various instruments it is not worth carrying around. If your guitar has been set up by a pro for harmonics this tuner is accurate, small, cheap and works great. The expensive peterson is home in the closet..
the ease of tuning your guitar into other keys is trick because the tuner auto maticly reads what string your tuning and auto maticly makes you tune your guitar to EADGBE you can change it but its difficult
I've had this tuner for about three years and I've only had to change the batteries twice,And I'm a frequent player of shows. And as for the quality,I have never seen a more durable tuner.I've dropped mine off of the top of a friends car on the middle of the highway and then another car ran over it,I grabbed it up off of the road and just stuffed the guts back in and it kept working.
i bought this tuner about a month ago and it tunes my guitar very well, my friend has a fender pedal tuner and this thing is so much easier to use then the fender, i put ten for features because if your a beginner it shows u the sounds of each string to tune it, value is good, 9 on quality because of the low e sometimes is a little iffy maybe check the tune a couple minutes after but other then taht its great.
I got this tuner at my qoute guitar shop for ten dolars more I liked it while it lasted. it stoped working about a week or month after i got it. i thought it was chromatic. I was sadly mistaken. well there was my review
It's alright, nothing speial but for 15 bucks what do you expect. I have had this for about a year and a half now, it was working great when I first got it but now its gettin kinda crappy. If you do get this it is a lot more accurate if you plug your guitar into the tuner, and not putting the tuner infront of your amp. All in all I think that for 15 bucks (or how ever much it is) I think it is worth buying.
It works great and never fails on me! Very reliable!
