OVERVIEW

A reliable cable with extended low-end frequency response and full harmonics.

The Monster Cable Bass Instrument Cable is built with Multi-gauge Time Correct windings with special dielectrics and ultra-dense shielding to deliver smooth, powerful low end. Ordinary instrument cables can rob your bass of its fundamental low-end punch. They're not made to meet the specific needs of today's bassist. Monster Bass is designed specifically for bass guitar. Dual heavy-gauge bass conductors and patented multiple-gauge wire networks deliver extended low-end frequency response and wide dynamic range. Monster Cable includes patented MicroFiber dielectric to provide quick transients and full harmonics, while dense shielding in the bass instrument cable reduces interference and hum.

FEATURES
  • 2 thick bass conductors improve voltage and current transmission for maximum punch and an extended low end.
  • MicroFiber inner dielectric provides better isolation of magnetic fields for improved harmonic detail
  • 95% coverage copper braided shield rejects RFI and EMI for a lower noise floor and increased resolution
  • IsoTec vibration isolation technology further reduces handling noise
  • Extra-flexible Duraflex outer jacket for superior reliability and cut resistance
  • 24k hard gold-plated 1/4" connectors with collet strain relief are durable and corrosion-resistant
  • Ergonomically contoured, heavy-duty body shell is easier to grab and offers hassle-free insertion and removal every time

Over a 35 year music career I have tried (and trashed) more cables than I can count. They were all cheapies and for ages I just assumed they all were until I invested in a Monster cable for stage work. As a gigging musician I was astounded at the difference the cable made. Zero noise, tough as nails and an absolutely flawless reproduction of sound that brought out tones I didn't even know existed. I bought my first Monster almost a decade ago and it still performs just as good as the new ones I've bought and used to replace every single cable in my signal chain. And I do mean EVERY ONE too, from my external speaker cabs that move the air I push with my basses to the shorties that connect my pedals together and I've never sounded better. If you're tired of cheap cables that die on stage or crackle during recording then do something about it and invest in Monster cables cause you're crazy if you don't! Sure they're expensive but look at it this way, you'll never have to buy another cable again, ever.

I noticed the weight difference immediately after removing it from the packaging. Very sturdy. It gives my Bass rig a bigger bottom and little to no hiss. UNFORTUNATELY it coils around your feet, legs, fans, anything in it's path. It was very distracting having to whip it back behind you every time you move. We have enough going on during a show to have to worry about falling down over your own equipment. I guess I can get a roadie to stand on it during the first set. Would have sent it back, but tossed the packaging. Needs to be more flexable and trained to heel.

All i can say is WOW!! I have used a variety of cables over the years, most have been the Horizon US vintage cables locally available. LOVE them. I recently bacame REALLY picky about my sound. I have ALWAYS have used MONSTER products for home audio, so I figured i would give their inst. cables a whirl. I just did a side by side comparison with my trusty horizon with the same bass/amp/effects chain......HOLY COW!!! VERY noticeable difference in volume and clarity! ALSO the small hiss I had is GONE! Best small gear purchase in years!!

      Monster Bass cable, Angle-End

      By Alex-aSLg8

      from Colorado Springs, CO

Comments about Monster Cable Monster Bass Instrument Cable Straight-Angled:

First, I definitely heard a difference in the sound coming out of my bass rigs-and for that matter, the bass cable sounded GREAT with my PRS MC Carty guitars, and my PRS original EG. It was hard to asy what the cable did for the guitars-but it was a rich sound. As for basses, it was an obvious increase in punch and warm clarity. And mind you, I'm both skeptical, and a little at a loss as to the subtle differences in components like wires, etc. But I heard it, and it was real. Very much worth it for a high quality 21' foot cable. BUT WAIT...there's a downside. I broke off the angle end of the cable in a bass. No big deal. But when I went for my free replacement, I found the new one was made of an irrationally stiff stock of rubber. This thing acted like a 21-foot python that had a love for wrapping around my leg! It turned from a 21' to about a 6', while grabbing me like it was ALIVE. Annoyed the crap out of me, and was about useless in the studio or on stage. So I sadly returned it for a Mogami...the Mogami is is soft, and sounds good, no reliability issues...but It ain't the sound quality of the Monster. Hey Monster! could you finish up the great designs with a rubber that doesn't try to shorten up and strangle us? Maybe some are stiffer than others, maybe it's a Quality Control issue. Maybe some are softer than others. But what I experienced was RIDICULOUS. So, I can't go back until they get softer, with less clinging/ snarling. AND REALLY WANT TO RETURN TO MONSTER. Heck, I'll drop on the STUDIO cable with it's cloth wrap, if that reduces the python effect. I don't want to end up on the National Enquirer as the musician who was throttled to death by a posessed instrument cable. Except fo the coiling issue, I'd give Monster a perfect rating. Hey Monster, You listening?

I finally bit the bullet and tried one of these. WOW I really do hear a difference. I A/B/C tested this and two other brand cables, and I actually do hear a difference.I asked some of my musician friends to do a blind test with me, and this cable won hands down. The cable is guaranteed for life, so what more do you want. The only drawback (and there always is one) is that this cable absolutely will not lay flat on the floor, I am constantly having to reach back and whip the cable back outta the way.

Comments about Monster Cable Monster Bass Instrument Cable Straight-Angled:

Bought this cable about a year ago. It definintely sounds better than any other cable I've used. Did A-B tests with other cables and this one definitely had an improved sound, as the manfacturers claim. Not much, but definitely noticable, which is great for a cable. Have not had any interference issues at any gig. Buy it, you'll be glad.
            Sturdy. No issues.
            Works great
            Little costly but worth it.

Dont listen to "All Hype" boy. Monsters are so expensive because they have a LIFETIME GUARANTEE, if something goes wrong with the cable, take it to your local music store and they legally have to give you a new one without any hesitation. The one dude says theres no difference in sound, hmm, he must be using cheap equipment, or no effects, or he doesnt record. The cable is springy? And he trips over it? I think hes just clumsy and cant walk. Buy Monster til the day you die folks, theres nothing better.

Comments about Monster Cable Monster Bass Instrument Cable Straight-Angled:

I have always used a regular guitar cable with basses (usually cheap ones at that). This bass cable really does provide cleaner signal, and more of it. It is very heavy and somewhat stiff, but worth it. The 21 foot version is a bargain. The only better solution, if you have a few more bucks, is to use a digital transmitter like the Line 6. I have only gigged with this cable a couple of times, so can't vouch for the durability, but the cable ends are very solid, so it should be fine. Good job, Monster - I recommend it.

I don't think I have ever heard the sound that I'm now getting out of my Bass Amp, and with a lifetime warranty what a deal. This cord Rocks in a country way.

I once thought that cables were just cables right?.....WRONG! There is a definite between good and bad cable. I purchased this cable a month ago. It instantly to enhanced my tone, depth of sound, fidelity, sustain, and punch of my lakland 55-01. My rig in general seems to be more responsive all around. I usually play into my combo amp(Roland Cube 100)as a monitor and run direct signal to the house. You see, the unbalanced signal between your guitar and amp is the most crucial, and so the sound technitians at my college have noticed the improvement in my sound from the house as well. This cable is hands down the best way to improve your tone overnight. I intend to purchase another for so I can use my TU-2 again!!!

A while back I finally had saved up enough money for my dream rig... an eden wt400 pushing an eden 410. I first started playing out of this rig with old generic cables. Dont get me wrong the rig sounded unbelievable next to my old tanker but when a friend sugested the monster bass cable I was blown away. It made even my already high end gear sound even better, which I didnt think was even possible. I have since sold that rig but I will keep my monster bass cables forever. The moral of the story is you should by this cable because who knows, you may have a diamond in the rough type setup and not even know it. These make anything sound better!!!!!!!!!

I have played bass over 20 years now, I have had Monster bass since they first came out a long time ago and they are still the best bass guitar cable on the market. If you cant hear any difference your flippin tone deaf. If you cant feel the difference you haven't much experience with cables. If you feel the cable coils up and is too stiff, well first of all who are you ??? who plays a cable anymore?? With the advent of hte original X1 and X2 digital wireless tech that was bought out by line 6 and made affordable to all bassplayers, there is absolutely no reason to paly with a cable anymore the line 6 G30 will make your bass sound better than a cable! I only use Monster bass prolink in my pedal board now ( I made my own custom cables using monster bass cables cut and re wired to gold ends) and 1 21 foot to run back to my rig. it lays down on the stage no problem and stays there. this si THE bass cable buy it and have it for life, dont ruin a good thing for bassists all over the world! Play the best!

I was disappointed in the stiffness of the cord material. I usually like to loop the cord a few times around the end of the neck strap before plugging into my bass to ensure a good connection. The stiffness and memory of the cord makes it difficult to do that. I will not get these cables again.
