Overall, I give this cable a 9 as it has great specs, has worked for me through everything I have put it through, and the bang for the buck feature is undeniable. The plugs plug in well, the cable behaves when in use, and it coils up for me great.

The only thing that I would like to see is a better plug, but if that would increase the price of the cable, then it's OK as it is now.

If you take care of the cable, it will be there when you need it.
This is a guitar cable, so let's get real. It has all of the proper materials to be an instrument cable that you can depend on to work. I really don't know why other reviewer's are having such a bad time with this cable. Folks, it's guaranteed for life, so if it breaks, get a replacement. It's really that easy!

But let's see, oxygen-free copper wire, copper shielding, great looking jacket (if you like the vintage look) and the plugs while not a big brand name do the job just fine. The plugs even have a gold plated ground tip, so for the price, you are getting one heck of a deal. This is the Tweed Right Angle Instrument 20' cable by the way.

And remember, these cables are guaranteed for life.
The quality of these cables are good, they can be better, but they are good as any other cable. They are not audiophile grade cables, but as far as I can tell, the sound of my guitars are not altered in any way shape or form.

I've compared this cable with Planet Waves, Live Wire Elite, Rapco Horizon, Monster and Core X2. This cable compares favorable with these cables, which is incredible considering the price of these cables.

I've had my 20' cable for roughly one year and it's held up just fine. I don't run over the cable or plugs with cars, tractors or 18 wheel trucks, so that may be a factor in why they have held up so good.

I tend towards taking care of my equipment, so that's another factor in why these cables have held up well for me.

I gave these cables 7 for quality due to the fact that they do not use Amphenol or Neutrik plugs, but then these are not audiophile cables.
I cannot emphasize enough the bang for the buck feature this cable has, musicians who are on a budget can get a decent instrument cable with great specs at a great price. I wish this cable was around when I started out playing guitar (broke musician, LOL!).

These cable look nice and sound great when they are new. Better than the cheaper cables out there. I own a few and the longest one is now junk. I hope the others don't begin to do the same.

I have found buying cheaper priced guitar cables isn't smarter.
Great looking tweed design and has gold tips...WOW!
I own a couple of these in size 10' and 20' and now the 20' is having issues. The sound quality has decreased very bad to a point where I was cranking my amp thinking something was wrong with my gear.

I switched to the smaller tweed cable and the amp jumped in volume. Turned out the pretty blue 20' tweed cable is no longer working like it should.

Looks are deceiving and this cable when it was NEW looked and worked excelent. Not the case any longer with the 20' I own. So far the 4 other 10' tweed cables I also own have been ok but time will tell if they crap out like the 20' did.

I am not rough on my cables at all. I don't wrap em up tight and don't pinch them. They are plugged in and barely dragged, that's it.
When they are new they are really noticeably better than the cheaper cables I've tried. How ever the 20' is giving me issues and the sound has dropped a lot to a point where I can't continue to use it.

Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed Right Angle Instrument Cable:

With my Epiphone Riviera I have a habit of hitting the plug on the downstroke when I'm playing certain songs, so the 90-degree would take the plug out of the way. This works perfectly for that. I'm buying a couple more of these instrument plugs to fit my Taylor 414 (keep plug from sticking straight out from guitar) and my Gibson Les Paul. Both guitar have problems resting them withe cable connector sticking out but with 90 degree heads it might work.

Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed Right Angle Instrument Cable:

Good value. Sturdy, attractive and they tangle far less than my rubber coated cables. I use 20'
lengths and have experienced no audible loss of high frquencies of fidelity as all. In fact my Tele's
seem almost too bright at times. I'll have no problem buying more as needed or suggesting
          others to try them.
It has what it needs to have. I have 3 straight end and 1 right angle all in gold tweed. They work well and have a nice vintage vibe to them.
I've had no problems with mine at all. No noise, no shorts and no outright failures. The tweed wrap
is thick and sturdy and the plugs are of decent quality for a cable in this price range.
If I could find better for the price of these I'd buy them but I haven't. That's why every cable I have
that has failed has been replaced by one of these.

          Tweed Right Angle Instrument Cable

          See all my reviews

Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed Right Angle Instrument Cable:

I gave this cable a 10/10 because it does exactly what a cable should do, and because it's such a great price. No complaints.
It's an instrument cable...what can you say? It's 20 ft, covered with a nice tweed fabric and has one straight end and one end with a right angle, which is good for me because my guitar has the jack on the front, so this cable doesn't stick out.
The quality is great and everything feels solid. The connectors seem fine and I especially like the tweed fabric that the cable is wrapped in; it doesn't get twisted like regular cables do. Just unwrap it and it will stay completely straight.
I don't know a lot about cables and stuff like that, but I've used a few different cables over the years and this one seems to work as good as any other, except that it's a lot cheaper than others.

          Tweed Right Angle Instrument Cable

Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed Right Angle Instrument Cable:

They do not get tangled up like my other cables do, even when there coiled on the floor, and finally a right angle tip. I have had to use right angle adaper's for awhile, angled cables were hard to find. I have used right angle cables forever, no broken cable end's. I have seen a few of those in my day. I like the cables, so far.
I like the looks and the right angle tip.
So far they seem to be holding up well. I have the 10 foot and a 20 foot one. I don't see any difference in my sound with these cables than my other cables that I payed a lot more money for.
For the money, it seems to be well worth it.

Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed Right Angle Instrument Cable:

The old saying, you want cheap, you get cheap !
You want a good looking cable that is CHEAP, look no further, THIS IS IT !!
Just do not expect it to last!
I ordered two of them as 20 footers mid July 2011. Not gigged, just used twice a week for practice both of them went south 3 months later in a matter of days, almost like they had a "break after three month" function built right into them.
I opened up one cable on both ends to see what the problem might be. The center cable connection on the straight plug end was torn off, ON BOTH OF THEM. Insulation with the tweed is clamped down way to soft and flimsy, because of the cheap plug. The cable then inevitably starts moving during use in that clamp, and then it is only a matter of time until it tears ooff the connection. Shrink tubing on them or not, these will break fast !!
Value, what value, throwing away money has no value to me !!

Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed Right Angle Instrument Cable:

I still use rubber cords for the equipment, but I have been using these cords between the instruments and effects for a year, and none has ever failed. They do not stiffen up in the cold like the rubber or plastic cords, and always lay flat.

Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed Right Angle Instrument Cable:

Early impressions: If you want a tweed cable, these offer good value.

Compared to the Fender "Custom Shop" tweed cable this replaced: This one costs 1/3 the price, looks just as vintage, is just as Chinese-made, seems at least as quiet, and sucks noticeably less treble.

(I do hear some very minor treble attenuation compared to my reference cable -- a Planet Waves "American Stage" cable that's beautifully tonally transparent, U.S.-made, and costs 2x the price. All cables I'm comparing are 10 ft.)

Based on this and my other "Musician's Gear" purchase (a keyboard stand/gig bag/cover package): Whoever's behind that brand name seems to offer good, functional gear at value prices.

Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed Right Angle Instrument Cable:

I own several of these cables with no problems! I have had troubles with some of the more pricier cables! Bottom line--I will stick to these because they work right, and last!

Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed Right Angle Instrument Cable:

This is a good quality cable regardless of what negative things people have said about them. I did notice the barrel nut on the 90 degree end was loose but what cable have you ever bought was not completely tight, I have run into same issue with other brands, this is normal and all mechanical cable ends will loosen over time or when they are subjected to thermal shock, it was 8 degrees outside the day mine were delivered. Buy this cable, you cant go wrong for the price and quality.

I recently bought two of these tweed 20 foot guitar cords. I like the classic look and am very pleased with the performance they give me. Ihave never been disappointed with any of my purchases from Musicians Friend.

Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed Right Angle Instrument Cable:

This is a more than a good cable, it is GREAT! Why? The older cables are probably nickel coated, this is more than that. The center connector (positive)appears to be gold plated. The negative or (ground)shield appears to be of a chrome finish. The advantage, longevity! Also, it has a nice external fabric coated. Easy to roll up and put into the gig bag!

Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed Right Angle Instrument Cable:

I read through a lot of the reviews before and after I purchased this cable, and was suprised at the negative reviews. Ive been using this for several months and havent seen any real signs of poor construction or quality, but ill check back in a year. I really like the tweed covering, prevents kinks and is easy to wrap-up. The only complaint I would have is the angled plug often will come loose, but i just check it every time i plug it in.

First one I ordered was a dud. It would cut in and out when it moved.
Easy return process and the second one works just fine.
The jack fits my Gibson SG and Orange Tiny Terror head just fine, is snug, not loose like some of the reviews mention.
