I have two of these stands, and use them with a small line array type speaker from Alto (22lbs) when space is limited on stage. They are plenty strong but not stable enough for full size 12 or 15 inch speakers, but work great for 6 or 8 inch cabinets. They sure save space and are easy to haul and set up, but I don't use them when there is any chance that someone will bump into the unit, as they have a small footprint and might tip over. I gave 5 stars because they are perfect for what I bought them for.

I bought this to use with a Roland AC-60 amp at small gigs. The amp weighs less than 25 pounds, and I needed to use it at the full height this stand is rated for. At full height, most stands do not have much overlap in the upper and lower tube, so they can be a bit wiggly. But this was worse than expected and made me uncomfortable with even this small item on it. I think the 60 pounds rated capacity is nuts. Maybe at it's full lowered height that would be ok, but I'd still be worried about much more than 30 pounds on this stand.

I ended up purchasing the Samson LS-40 instead. It's still compact and lightweight, but a bit more heavy duty than this one, and a bit taller. Measuring at the bottom of my amp when mounted on the stand, the On-Stage Mini gave me 44", while the Samson went up to 54.5". The Samson also has a safety pin and holes in the upper tube, which the On-Stage Mini does not. With the Samson at it's top hole, it was also a bit wiggly, but not as bad as the On-Stage Mini. Plus, I could lower the Samson by one hole, and it became MUCH more stable, while still giving me a 50" height at the bottom of the amp - 6" more than the On-Stage Mini.

Bottom line, if you want the lightest, smallest speaker stand, are ok with the 44" height, and your speaker weighs less than 30 pounds, this could work for you. But the Samson LS-40 is only a little more expensive, and is a significant step up in height and "real-life" capacity, while still being way smaller than a full size stand.. The Samson is rated at 55 pounds and that might be a stretch, but the 60 pound capacity of the On-Stage Mini is ridiculous.

I would have returned the On-Stage Mini, but with the cost of shipping, I decided to just keep it. I can probably use it for something like maybe a small mixer stand or an iPad stand.

Comments about On-Stage SSAS7000B Mini Adjustable Speaker Stand:

I bought this for my Bose S1 Pro, if I had tried it in advance, I never would have bought it but that's the risk of buying online. The Bose speaker is light and small but seems unstable on this stand and doesn't sit straight up, it leans forward (probably the speaker's fault) which concerns me that it could be knocked over very easily.

I love the idea of this small stand but I doubt I will use it because of my stability concerns and don't want to damage an expensive speaker.

Tired of carrying a heavy equipment because I do solo performances 4-5 times a week, decided not only change the speakers, everything included the mic stand for the most compact products, now I have a couple of Bose S1, and the portability allow me to set up in less than 4 minutes, tear down and get in my car in 5 ! The added minute is to get paid!!!

I use these stands to hold my Kustom PA50 PA speakers which are somewhat small cabinets. At the moment I am using them in my small home rehearsal space for friends and bandmates. They are nice and compact and light weight and hold my speakers up with no problem. I would not exceed 50 Lbs. with these stands they are only made for small to mid size cabinets . Overall I am happy with my purchase.

I have guitars all around the house, cluttering up my living space. This stand allows me to keep my two most used at easy disposal in my practice space. It is very stable with a small footprint. When I preform it will provide that same easy access for my guitar along with my wife's.
