Very good strings.

Comments about Rotosound RB45 Rotobass Nickel Roundwound Strings:

I put these suckers on my Memphis P-bass the other day, and I though they sounded excellent. They are fairly bright and put on a very good tone for such a cheap string set. Rotosounds are great, Geddy Lee, Steve Harris, and Jaco Pastorius are some famous Rotosound users, and I think I can see why they choose these strings. Get them on your bass, they are really great sounding.

Comments about Rotosound RB45 Rotobass Nickel Roundwound Strings:

these are just ok. the RN66 are much brighter and sound better for nickel and the gauge is same as stainless steel rotos. I do not think they are a great find for the price few dollars extra gets you a better string set.

Comments about Rotosound RB45 Rotobass Nickel Roundwound Strings:

They sounded great and felt great to play for about three weeks or so. Beyond that, they've been sounding increasingly wrong as time went on. Today, barely over a month since I put this set on, I picked up my bass and suddenly they sound totally dead. When I looked closely, I saw that the strings are so stretched that they're all unraveling noticeably on the saddle ends.

The stock Epiphone strings on this Thunderbird lasted over a year before they went dead, even with my rough playing.

I'm so mad that Epiphone doesn't seem to sell their strings anymore. Because of that, I ended up trying these Rotosounds.

Comments about Rotosound RB45 Rotobass Nickel Roundwound Strings:

I got into rotosound strings when doing some testing of strings on my standard american p bass w/ maple fretboard. I actually do not like strings to be too bright and top endish and these were awesome! I already had a set of dr sunbeams 45-105 on my p bass and switched to these for comparison. They were a lot silkier feeling under my fingers and had a fantastic warm vibe to them. The best way to describe these is to say they sound slightly broken in yet they were still plenty bright for my tastes! I play a lot of blues, classic rock and old school motown sounding music and these fit the bill perfectly. You also couldn't ask for a better price. I honestly thought the dr sunbeams were to twangy for my liking and i had to turn the top end down when playing into my ampeg svt classic head. All in all I think Im going to keep these on for a good long time to come. Definitely give them a shot if you like a slightly warmer, smoother tone!

I get a solid, round, full-bottom tone from these strings, which makes it perfect for pop music. The same sound also comes through excellently on recordings.
