So let's boil this down to soup and nuts. I am a bass player that dabbles a bit with percussion. I am NOT a trained percussionist. I will lay down a beat to record a track that I can then lay down a bass line over.

I have been doing some Jazz and country shuffle type stuff as of late, and, well I needed brushes. Saw these, they weren't a huge financial commitment so I went for them. It should be noted that a good friend of mine that is a frequent gigging jazz drummer HIGHLY recommended I get a pair of these, and a pair of the Vic FIrth Live Wire brushes (very different sound from those).

What can I say? They are well made, do what they are supposed to do, I get the sound I want from them every time I use them. No failures, no complaints.

Noodling around with a friend on keyboard I was VERY easily able to get that, well brushed swish as we played the Charlie Brown Chrismaas theme. So yeah, it does what I want it to do...

I've seen some complaints about the bump at the end of the handle. No problems by me. Feels natural and helps keep the brush wehre I want it while keeping a loose grip on it. Kind of like using a pickup for a thumb rest when playing bass... It just feels right.

One item that needs to be noted though, the description is off slightly in that it appears from the description that this is a single brush. It is not, it is a pair of brushes.

The rubber grip handle has a round knob at the end. It is difficult to see just how big the knob is in the picture on the website at the time I placed the order. Probably intended to help keep your hand in place, but it actually gets in the way for me and makes the grip feel awkward. I prefer a smooth handle without the bump. Is good quality and has a good sound, but just feels awkward to me.

Comments about Vic Firth Heritage Brush Rubber Handle:

I use these brushes all the time for my Johnny Cash 'train beat' and they wup the pants off all the other brushes that I have tried (and I've tried them all, believe me).One or two issues with quality control (I've had a few 'explode' all over me) but nothing that other makes don't do.Can't recommend these highly enough, if you wanna shuffle and love that style of music get some of these.

Comments about Vic Firth Heritage Brush Rubber Handle:

These are good sticks. I have only played drums for about 1 and 1/2 years, but these are good sticks. They are easy to retract. Plus they are Vic Firth so they are great.

Good brushes. Recommended by my drum teacher, and they are indeed a good set. Has a couple of notches to vary the width of the spread. Sound great.

Comments about Vic Firth Heritage Brush Rubber Handle:

These Vic Firth brushes are an essential item in every drummers stick bag. They are build well, feel great in the hands, and sound amazing! My only issue with these is that if you do not keep them in the plastic tube they come in and you try to store them in the stick bag, you WILL bend the wires.

Comments about Vic Firth Heritage Brush Rubber Handle:

To be honest, I needed some wire brushes and loved the color of these so I bought them and LOVE them! They have an awesome/well-rounded sound, so what was a search for a cheap pair of brushes turned out to be a purchase of the "perfect pair"......HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

These brushes are as described and work well. The rubber handle is very comfortable, and the retraction points allow you to fan the brush at different widths. The only con is that the retraction handles are a little hard to pull, but they may loosen up with time.

Comments about Vic Firth Heritage Brush Rubber Handle:

This is a quality pair of brushes. I occasionally use these for smaller acoustic gigs. They are light with a controlled spread and good sound on coated heads. However, I must admit that my go to brush continues to be the Regal-Tip Jeff Hamilton version.

Nice sound and they slide open and close smoothly. A mid range weight wire. Nice pop on the drum and a smooth swish. Feel great in my hands and have a good rubber grip. Great all around tool and get a lot of use.

Great set of brushes! I like to play a range of music from Heavy Metal to Jazz and for that Jazzy sound you cant beat these brushes! Easily adjust sound by sliding the grip and very comfortable to hold. I will be buying these again!!
