I suck at double bass but when i get on this pedal i play like a pro every time. The only thing i don't like about it is that it's really expensive. But it's worth the money.
Very nice pedal. Smoother than other top-line pedals and you don't have to use much force to play it. The pedal also gives you total control so you could control your bass volume. Totally adjustable to fit your kit and your preferences.
These pedals are amazing. They have some smooth ball bearings, sweet footboard leveling, and great spring tension adjustment I never thought that I could adjust this pedal in so many ways. These pedals allow u to play beats that you would not be able to play with other pedals!. I say that by experience.
I was using an 8 yr old Yamaha pedal, before purchasing this pedal. I thought that using double bass was mainly a coordination thing rather than the quality of the pedal. I couldn't see spending the money for a new dbl ft pedal, when I can't even keep a steady rhythm with my current pedal. This pedal took a little getting use to because I was so accustomed to really working for the rhythm that I wanted. Yamaha's DFP-9310 took all my effort away. It is very smooth and precise. I no longer have to concentrate on what my feet are doing. I don't kick, it kicks all by itself. I couldn't be more satisfied. Yamaha, you've done it again! Great product.
This one is the very best pedal I've ever had, and played, it is smooth, noiseless, it has the exact amount of weight, and compared with DW pedals it is far much lighter, but little heavier than Iron Cobra's, so you're getting the best of both pedals, and the way you can adjust it is just limitless. If you haven't tried a Yamaha pedal, give yourself a chance, you'll never regret.
This pedal is well constructed. Full metal, so it's very durable! It's very smooth and quiet, especially with the provided belts. They're very adjustable, and with some tweaking, you can make them very comfy! And they're fast! These babies GLIDE, and it doesn't take a lot to keep them going. Very excellent product, like all professional pedals, regardless of company.
i just got this pedal and it is sweet. i was trying out a DW 5000 accelerator, but the heaviness of the pedal wasn't letting me be clean on my 16th note double strokes (with one foot, obviously). i played on these yamahas for about 30 seconds and knew they were the ones for me. these pedals are chain-driven as well, so they still allow me to keep in the pocket fro drawn out double bass parts. overall i feel these are the best of both worlds.
I've owned this pedal for 3 years now, and it's still working great. I love the belt drive because it gives me very smooth action. The pedalboard does darken drom shiny silver to a dull grey with use, other than that I have no complaints whatsoever. The memory clamps are perfect for gigging musicians because you dont have to adjust height / tension everytime. With practice, I can disassemble/setup the whole the whole thing under 5 minutes. Best of all, it matches the pedal on my Yamaha DTXPRESS perfectly.
well I got this pedal about 8 months ago at guitar center and I loved it right out of the box. it took no time at all to adjust it to my feel with its easy directions and adjustments. however. the reason for my 7 overall star rating.... after improving my drumming and technique, I've found the footboard to be too short for my to the single foot triplet. I can easily get the triplet on my cheap pacific pedals which really bums me out because I love everything else about the flying dragon double pedal. I think I'm going to sell it soon and order the axis longboards however after trying out my friends set.
So I went to my local "GC" and bought one of these pedals. The guy gave me a really good deal, and so I thought I'd give it a try. To begin, the left pedal keeps on hitting the pedal board. This isnt a major issue, it just sucks b/c I dont feel like messing with the chain. I can say however, that when it gets going, it is one of the smoothest pedals i have ever played on. Barely any effort into keeping these puppies going. EXCELLENT QUALITY!!! They are beats... no plastic or anything. Everything is solid metal. ROCK ON!
I had the iron cobra for 5 yrs until I bought this one. I had it set up and ready to go to my specs in 10 min. I am twice as fast now. It is so smooth. This pedal is a must.
I've had this pedal for about 4 years. And I love it! I love how adjustable it is. Anybody can get that setting they love. And I've given an honest chance to the cobras and DW's and powershifters, but it really comes down to preference. The only complaint I have about this pedal is that the screws broke in half after about a year. When you tighten them they would just snap in half. But it's an easy fix (get better screws) but other than that, yamaha is the only thing I play. Love it, smooth responsive action, infinite adjustability, and unmatched durability.
I've owned the flying dragon "double kick" pedal for 3 or so years now. The adjustments are very easy to execute, and the chain drive is very durable and smooth. I use a lot of variations in my playing, triplets, blast beats, hardcore single foot 16ths and quads. This pedal is lighter in weight than most and holds up to travel conditions. I recommend anyone, beginner or pro to seriously look into the complete line of these pedals. You will not be disappointed, a solid choice! I'll never go back to another. All YAMAHA products are well priced and well worth any of your hard earned money. Keep it up YAMAHA!
Before I bought the 9310 single pedal, I had always used a Yamaha strap drive pedal. I was skeptical of how smooth a chain drive pedal would be. The Flying Dragon series is unbelievable smooth and feels like an extension of my foot. Highly recommended for anyone!
I have used a Tama and DW pedal before this, and they don't even compare to this pedal!! It's great!!
