The Catalinbread Talisman plate reverb pedal brings the smooth depth and unobtrusive dimension of a studio plate reverb to a compact digital pedal. Finished in Catalinbread's stealthy Blackout Series enclosure, its Time, Mix, Predelay, High Pass and Volume controls shape everything from short supportive reflections to near-infinite ambient pads while helping the dry attack remain clear and the low end stay controlled. An internal switch selects true-bypass or buffered operation, with buffered mode allowing long reverb tails to continue after bypass and keeping the Volume control active for broader pedalboard-level adjustment.

Time and Predelay Separate Space From the Dry Attack

The Time control adjusts the reverb tail from compact, room-like decay to a long wash that can approach an infinite pad. Predelay adds up to approximately 100ms between the dry note and the onset of the reverb, helping the initial attack remain clear before the ambience blooms. That separation can preserve articulation in dense mixes and keep rhythm parts defined even with longer decay settings.

High-Pass and Mix Controls Keep the Reverb Focused

The High Pass control progressively removes low-frequency content from the reverb signal, reducing buildup and leaving more room for the fundamental guitar tone. Mix ranges from fully dry to 100% wet, supporting standard pedalboard placement as well as parallel or specialized routing. Volume controls the overall output and gives the discrete preamp enough range to match unity level or provide additional boost.

Switchable Bypass Adds Practical Pedalboard Flexibility

An internal mode switch selects true bypass or buffered operation. In buffered mode, long reverb tails can continue after bypass, and the Volume control remains active so the Talisman can serve as a global level control for the pedalboard. Made in the USA, the Talisman Blackout Series edition runs on a center-negative 9–18V DC supply, draws 62mA and should be used with a supply capable of delivering at least 100mA.
