Great overall unit, but having used it for about a year in a variety of situations, here are a few points I think are important.Pro's-- Great sound, even directly into a PA-- Pedals nicely spaced unless you've got really big feet-- Very flexible and works well with electric and acoustic guitarsCon's-- Display REALLY hard to see in sunlight/ shaded sunlight. It's even tough to see even with a custom made (out of VHS box) sunshade. Makes it hard to tune and know where you if you change effects a lot. Note to manufacturer: try one of the new LCD displays.-- Delay switching (when in Bank mode) is annoying and takes a lot of getting used to. Better blending would be ideal.

Around 1996 I gave praise to Digitech I told Them that They created a Monster when I bought a Digitech GSP 2101 for between $700.00 and $800.00 the later versions of the GSP 2101 were even better and due to a lack of funds I did not get the foot controller or the up grade but the GSP 2101 Is an excellent Guitar effect processor but before Anyone knew It Digitech discontinued the GSP 2101. As Computers evolve You get more power for less money but not from Digitech and In the case of the GNX 3000 You get less. The GNX 3000 works good I have had no problems with Its functions and except for the knobs would be easy to break Its plenty durable but all GNX 3000 does Is Imitates Other Over Drives, I like the Sound of the Big Muff and Metal Zone the best and for the Amplifiers I like the Sound of the Marshall 800 and 2000 the best but No the GNX 3000 does Not Sound as good as a true Tube Over Drive. I do not know why these manufactures don't just give the Customer what We want a good Sounding true Tube Over Drive pedal Instead of building hundreds of different Over Drive pedals and claim It Sounds like a Tube Over Drive. What does Impress Me the GNX 3000 makes electric Guitars Sound ether like a medium or jumbo Acoustic Guitar and I do not know If This can be done with a graphic equalizer. I also like the Yah Yah (not the Wah Wah) and Whammy and Talker (the GSP 2101 does not have Yah Yah or Talker) but that Is about It, and as far as Other Sound effects and versatility goes as My Bass player Its missing, there is no String Swell and other effects as on the GSP 2101 and the GSP 2101 allows You to combine many Sound effects as Flanger and Chorus In any combination You want with the GNX 3000 the Flanger and Chorus will not work at the same time and It seems to Me the GNX 3000 does not Sound as good as the GSP 2101 nether. The GSP 2101 has 5 seconds of delay the GNX 3000 has 2 seconds of delay. I found Digitech made a String Swell pedal but They discontinued It too. Using a Interface with a Microsoft computer to complete the functions Is a joke. You can still buy used GSP 2101 which I was going to do but I don't want to give honor to Digitech for Creating My Sound effects. Last before I forget, I Am not going to be as these over priced brands that rate lower priced brands and say, "Its good for a Beginner! or "Save up Your money and buy something better! Because this is too expensive.

This device is great! it has a great wah and volune function and several really nice effects. But does lttle in the area of modeling or recording. but if you are looking for modeling or recording then go wih something like the Line 6 POD XT LIVE. but if you are just looking for a kool device to add to your collection and need some effects then this is for you! also it is very durable!

Awesome

By Custombuilt512

from Powell, WY

Awesome is not a word that is usually in my vocabulary, but the gnx3000 is just that. I used to use single effects pedals (danelectro, Ibinez ts-9...) and string them together with tangles of cord, but after I used my friends gnx3000 I tossed them and now, when my tax return comes I'm ordering one right away. The tone is just amazing and there are so many ways to shape your sound. I've seen reviews where people complain that the 65 user channels aren't enough, but let's face it, if you use more than 65 different effects in your set, you obviously have a problem. Anyways, kudos digitech on the gnx3000 and on the user friendly website.

Tons of sounds

By CYbassplayer

from Cleveland, Ohio

This things has so many amps that all sound pretty accurate to the amps they model. There not 100% accurate but why would expect a solid state pedal sound exactly like a tube amp. The effects on this are amazing its probably the best thing on it. It has almost every imaginable effect and all top notch. One of tho coolest features on this is the ability to blend more then one amp witch allows for so many unique sounds. My big complaints about this pedal are the huge lag there is when you change channels and when you set the expression pedal to anything besides volume its impossible to match the volumes of the other channels with out having to go back and adjusting almost every signal setting on that channel, and theres a lot. over all though this is a really good pedal one of the best modeling pedals out there and cheaper then a lot that aren't even as good as this pedal is.

Dudes & Dudettes , This is the best effects device I've ever owned . . .& I've played for over 25+ years this has every amp I've EVER wanted and then some . . . there tune-able, EQ wise, drive wise and just plain fun to work with, read the manual and succeed . . .and be the envy of your friends . . .low volume , high volume not a problem . . .home studio, the studio . . . sounds way incredible . . .no matter what you do . . .tune it , rearrange the tones, pedals, cabs, I've had everything amp wise and every single pedal you can think of . . I retired all of them when I got this . . .and use only this . . . K7

Just listen to those sound samples

By Kelly James

from Weslaco, TX

See all my reviews

This has some of the best sounds. PERIOD. These sounds are richer and more complex than on the RP500 although that too is a great product.I don't care if the patches take ONE FOURTH of a second to switch. NOT A WHOLE SECOND! Even so I have no problem when switching to a lead etc. (I employ a musical device known as a rest) These sounds are FAT and RICH and fun to play. You will not spend all your time tweaking. I have two, one for the computer and one for gigging. I recommend such a setup, it is worth it not to have set it up back and forth. I create sounds at the computer by trying to mimic or enhance cd tones and then run live into a small PA for myself and also to the house PA. GO STEREO!!!

GNX3000 ROCKS

By musicman357

from Memphis, TN

Ive had mine about 2 years now and I love it. It blew me away right out of the box. The sounds you get from this thing are amazing and its built like a tank. It took some time figuring it out so just READ the manual! I run mine through a crate powerblock and a B-52 412 cab.I can get everything from sweet and clean to down and dirty. Its an awesome tool for any musicians arsenal.

Great Sound

I've tried several different amp modeling multi-effects processors, and many of them sound cold, thin, and tinny, but this one doesn't. The GNX3000 has every studio effect you've ever heard in one box. I highly recommend it.

Great Pedal for Gigging and Recording !

By R V Gable

from Alachua, FL

See all my reviews

I love this pedal! Well built! I had the GNX 3 and it was good but I like this much better because it has many more presets. If you are a gigging musician in a cover band you'll like it because you'll find easy access to a host of sounds to go with your set list. Volume pedal is great! Setting the pedals to banks of sounds, for instance country, you'll find sounds at the ready to play your song. Blues?... no problem. My favorite preset... (and if you have a Gretsch watch out!)is the "StrayCat". it sounds like Setzer! I play it out of a Vox amp and Wow! The acoustic guitar sounds are very real and satisfying. You can't go wrong with this board! Very cool! You'll love it!

Digitech does not honour warranty

By The Ancientmariner

from Shelton, CT

See all my reviews

Digitech does not honour their one year guarantee which was previously listed on this website! This product is full of fizz and sounds nothing like a real tube amp. Listen to the sound examples for yourself. Save your money and buy a real tube amp. Harmon music group (aka Digitech) does not make them like they used to, but then again, when did they ever? Like the guy said below, it's about as stupid as his bass player and even dumber than my dog!

Great for Recording

By Jason-YrzFU

I've seen that say this is a bad unit for direct recording. all i can say to that is..WHAT?!!?! lol. that is all i use this for. the only thing i use this for. and it absolutely rocks. me and my cousin both have one, and we write and record music together, and the recordings are top notch. i'd rather use this than hassel with micing a cab. i've owned a marshall TSL100 as well as other tube amps, and for recording i'd rather use this.

Must Have.....

By Mr. Metal-2-1-J

from Waterford, MI

See all my reviews

I've been searching 17 years for this exact product. It has everything you could ever imagine and then some. The list of presets and amp models goes on and on. I've had it now for about 4 months and still can't believe everything it can do. I play mostly rock like Godsmack, Nickleback, Seether, Chevelle, etc. and this thing packs a mean crunch. This is the only unit I've found to replace the heavy sound of my Rocktron MAxe (old school!). And it beats it hands down. Plus, it has every effect you could need built in! So no more individual pre-amps and effect units. I've gone through a lot of them too and now they are all sitting in storage. One last thing, this is EASY to use! I was cranking out heavy jams within an hour (if that). And once you get the concept down, you can whip through all the different choices in no time to create any sound you want.

cool if you spend some time on it

By rak-1MCrp

from london uk

if you're going straight to computer you might be in trouble here, the direct sound has an INSANE amount of top end detail and the speaker compensation just slices off all tops until there's nothing left.but if you're going through an external eq, amp or cab etc you might be ok. the programming is time consuming but you can get some great sounds in the end. a very versatile unit. excellent for bass btw.

Smokin Sounds

By Tony-2-vrc

from Gary, IN

Really like this Mult pedal. I took some time get used to it. Read the guide and played around. I like the footprint, styling and I really like the sound. USB computer with Vista and it fired right up. I added prog editor and it's great. Had a slight problem with older Cubase so I used the Pro Tracks package from Cakewalk that was bundled. No lags, no problems. Lovin this thing through my Macki 824's and Yam sub. This one isn't as digital as my GT Boss unit. Something about it's sound was better than its new RP500. Plus that one don't have the drums machine built in that I wanted. TETO! Since the add on model pack's I added I can have more sounds altho this one has quite a lot to play with. My live rig is a VHT 2-50 stereo and cab with V30 and Tonkers in Xpattern. Sounds are incredible with LP EPI Silverburst! No noise. No loss. Sound cuts well with the other guys rigs. Great pedal, great new price! Purchased another for a spare.

Digitech has done it again!

By Kevin Del Rio

from Rockford, IL

I received my new GNX3000 on Wednesday, and used it Friday night at my band's gig. Boy, am I impressed. I'm impressed with the sheer number of presets, and after spending just a couple hours with it, had dozens of presets ready to use. The effects are fabulous - my guitar has never sounded bigger.I was satisfied with my purchase simply on the "LIVE" credentials and performance. Once I installed the software onto my PC, I was really blown away. The interface is quite good, and is very easy to use. Now that I've been able to play with it more and more, the more I see how well thought-out this monster is. Bottom line: It is SO worth the money - it has already made me a better player, and have an arsenal available which will certainly turn heads.

love it

By ymp5000

I?ve had this unit for a couple of years now and have had NO issues with it at all. Sound quality on all the classic amp models are really good. If you want serious low end ultra high gain chunk for death/black metal this unit lacks a little bit IMO but it could also be my setup. I am running the GNX3000 into a pair of JCM800 (2203) 100 watt heads that have been modified with an effect loop between the pre and power amp so I?m jacking straight in the EL34 power section and then into a pair of No Name 4X12 cabs loaded with 16 ohm G-12/30 celestions wired in series/paralel for 16 ohms. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!!

This thing can do it all. If you feel that you need more effects, what you really need is to be a better guitar player! This thing is more then you'll ever use, and it seems to be partially user friendly. 2 thumbs up for me

Not that easy...

By 6stringalinga

When I saw this in the magazine with the review I was amazed. This was the pedal I was gonna get. When I finally got it I could not stop playing around with it. I still have yet to figure out how to use the looping function but other than that I love it. It could be cheaper but it's still worth it. Also, you may wanna make sure you have a lot of free time cause the owner's manual is a novel!
