The MXR Wylde Audio Zakk Sabbath overdrive pedal brings Zakk Wylde’s hard-hitting overdrive circuit into a limited-edition finish inspired by Zakk Sabbath, the longtime Ozzy Osbourne guitarist's tribute to the godfathers of heavy metal. Built with the same internal design as the Wylde Audio Overdrive, this compact stompbox is voiced for tough riffs, heavy rhythm crunch and screaming lead tones with long sustain. Output, Tone and Gain controls keep the layout direct, making it easy to push an already driven amp into tighter saturation, added bite and full-on heavy overdrive.
Zakk Sabbath Finish With Wylde Audio Circuitry
This limited-edition version stands apart visually with a special Zakk Sabbath-inspired graphic treatment, while the core circuit stays true to the Wylde Audio Overdrive platform. The result is an aggressive overdrive designed around Zakk’s rhythm and lead style, giving players a straightforward way to boost, tighten and thicken their amp tone. It is especially effective in front of an already driven amp, where it can add gain, sustain and extra bite for heavier riffing and lead work.
Three Controls for Fast Heavy Tones
The simple Output, Tone and Gain layout keeps setup fast. Output sets the pedal’s level, Tone shapes the overdrive’s overall EQ response and Gain controls how hard the circuit pushes into saturation. That combination makes it easy to dial in a boosted lead voice, a more aggressive rhythm sound or the heavy, chunky crunch associated with Zakk’s high-gain playing style.
9V Power for Pedalboard Flexibility
The MXR Wylde Audio Zakk Sabbath Overdrive can run on a single 9V battery, a 9V AC adapter such as the Dunlop ECB003 or an MXR Brick Series power supply. Its compact MXR format makes it easy to add to a pedalboard for hard rock, metal and high-gain amp setups.
