Best bass period.

By Dewane

from houston, TX

This is the best all around bass period. You can get any tone out of it to match your music style. If you can't do it with this one, you can't do it.

Spoiled maybe?

By Groove Injun

from NC

Ok...so I order this as a backup bass. It comes out of the box with a "B" rating setup. The action is super high, the bass is detuned (except for the g string) and the finish is not wine, but more like "pink". On the up side: the design, electronics and craftsmanship is top notch. It plays good (aside from the action) and feels great. Maybe I am spoiled because I own a custom shop 7 string. Compared to his actual work, the bass does not hold a canlde. But for the $$$ it will be a great bass for me.

By Big Dmac

You won't be disappointed with this bass. It's well balanced and has great tone and low ends. Whether a novice or a seasoned pro, from jammin' with friends or giggin' on stage, this bass won't let you down.

This is an incredibly well balanced bass. It is well suited for Jazz/comtempory music. The sound is booming or hollow it will growl or just keep the rhythm. The controls allow you to set the sound to just about any tone configuration you like.

I like it alot

Really comfortable, pretty light, love the nice smooth unfinished neck. A nice variety of sounds at the twist of a couple of knobs.

This bass kicks butt. Great electronics.

By Lebry97

from Paterson, NJ

This is a great bass for the price. It is very comfortable to play and the action is great. Rivals Fender Jazz and Ibanez BTB models.

Amazing Bass for the price..

By Josh-7d983

from Redding, Ca

I love this bass...The Bartolinis sound amazing..The way they designed the bolt on neck make it ALMOST a neck-thru...There are actually more control knobs and a switch than there are on the pictured model...Just a few tweaks of the knobs, and you can dial up a perfect sound...I slap, pick and finger pick, so I need ALL that control...Great bass, BUT DONT BUY THE CASE!!!...It is really cheap and I can see myself buying a new one in the very near future....

The things I don't like is about the bass, it's to heavy and your not able the gain inside the electronics and the choice of colors.

The best bass nobody ever heard of

By Rome

from Suburban Detroit

The first thing that catches your eye is the Conklin's goofy top horn and extreme cutaway on the bottom. But pick it up and play it, and you will fall in love. For a mid-priced bass, this instrument plays like a high-end model. Thin neck and booming tone from the active pick-ups make it a dream to play. While heavier than an average bass, its balance and weight let you know that you're not just playing a beginner model. Pick-up selection, volume, and on-board bass/treble controls let you shape your sound how you want on the fly. I traded in two 4-string Conklin Groove Tools for my 5-string.
