What a nice little EB-0 package they make these days - perfect for someone who wants to start on a short-scale instrument. (Perfect for small hands, short arms, etc.)The EB-0 is a classic set-up. It is designed to sound like a basic bass guitar when you play it. "But it only has one pick-up!" That's right, and for most people, that's really all they need to get a satisfactory sound.Like most packages, the accessories on this aren't the greatest. The amp is good for practicing quietly at home. If you are going to play in public, go out and buy a real amp that will handle the job - something with a minimum set-up like an Ampeg B-15 will do for most people.A gig bag? Great around the house. Otherwise get a hard-shell case. And a quick note on strings: when you get a new bass (or guitar), the strings that come attached are typically cheap and should be removed immediately. Replace them with good quality strings before you begin using the instrument. The good strings will sound better, stay in tune longer, and your fingers will thank you for it.Enjoy!

I bought this bass a few years ago, it was my first one. At the time I thought it was great, but then after about a month of playing it I relized I was wrong. This bass has a scaled down neck so it makes it almost impossible to find nice strings for it. I would not sugest a scaled down bass, even for begeners, just learn on the real thing. This bass also is extreemly heavy. This makes the neck constantly rise, not to mention the strain it puts on your back. The strings have an aweful rattle, I have frequently ajusted mine and I cant get it right. The pickups are also very quiet, not to mention they are in the way of where you are suposed to slap. This bass also falls apart very easily, my volume nob fell off, and one of my tuners also fell off. The tuner and case it comes with are also useless. The case doesnt fit, and the tuner never gets the stings right. Overall I wouldnt recomend this bass to anyone. Put your money toward anything else, and I guarantee that you will be happy. Squire and Ibenez have some nice basses that I would recomend aposed to this.

If you are looking into slap, look somewhere else.

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

This is a decent beginners pack but I have one huge beef with the bass. The pickup is right where you are supposed to slap and pop. I have the same beef with the Gibson Reissue SG because it is virtually impossible to play slap on those things. Otherwise, it is your average bass starter pack.

First bass

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

I recently bought this bass for a 10 year old looking to start playing bass. The shorter neck is perfect for him. The bass is a bit heavy but what Gibson or Gibson copy isn't. I have been playing bass for years and think this bass is excellent for the money. Good sound, appearance, and quality. After looking at the Fender starter packages I went with the Epi because of better woods and solid construction. I'm glad I did because this is a great starter bass.

good bass bad amp

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

I got this as my first bass 3 years ago and the bass was perfectly fine but the amp would never let you pass 7 on the volume unless you enjoy a fuzzy noise when you play so i bought a new amp

Ok for starters

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

I've had this bass for almost a year now and I'm starting to regret getting it. The strings need replacing, it never stays in tune. The bag that came with it is way too small. The tuner is a piece of junk. I got a guitar lesson cd instead of a bass video. The amp is terrible, although so is about any that come with the instrument. If your just starting out then this would be something you should get but if you have some expierence then you should think about an Ibanez or Fender. Its good for the money and would recomend it to any beginer bass players

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

I bought this bass even though I am a lefty. I find it a little bottom heavy so I have to hold onto it, but I like it. I am used to a long neck so it took a little getting used to and I always lay my thumb on my pick-up so its a little hard to do that when it is up so close to the neck. I like the body style and it sounds really good. Its a little deeper than my Ibanez and I like that real well. I didn't buy the package, just the bass. Its a good bass and a good value.

A Good Starter Bass

By Bass Player-_pNUw

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

This package is a great starter bass package. The only problem was if you plugged it in to certain amps it would get feedback. If you are learning to play it's good because its small scale neck makes it easier to play. If you are just learning how to play, get this bass.

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

The Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack is not what I expected. I?ve only been playing for a little over a year and I can tell you that this set is no good. The cable died on me the day I got it, so I had to buy a new one right off. The DVD is pointless because the only things it shows you are the parts, nothing about how to play. The bass hates to keep a tune. At one point the E string was higher pitched than the A was which threw off the entire song. The strings that came on it were no good. Another bad point {for me anyway} is that it is a short scale. Although short scale is good for kids, adults will find it difficult to play. I did however get a complement on it when I took it to a music store. The clerk said it was a beautiful bass, but the EB-3 by Epiphone is just as beautiful but is better quality. If you want to get this because it has a lot of stuff don?t, get the Squier Bass Pak with Rumble 15 Amp. It costs just as much, and is a better bass.

Not that great...

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

I got this for it's looks awhile ago and I thouht it was great. Then it feel apart(after about a week). It chipped and buzzed constantly. The bridge kept falling out and it is also very heavy. The accessories aren't good either. The amp isn't bad but it's not great (but it's fine). The tuner never worked, the strap broke, and the bag's bottom fell out. other than that the rest was fine. I find it to be overpriced, but if you want it, go for it.

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

This is a great begginer to intermediate bass. the bass itself is amazing, great neck great body. The finish is great too (cherry). The rest of the stuff is ok. The amp is a pile it sounds like garbage and i have to put the cord into the imput only in the exact spot for it to work. (it just came that way) The tuner is good i had no problems. I was smart enough to buy another chord with it because the cord that came with it sucks. The strap is fine a little uncomfortable but fine. Picks i never use. Dvd is fine. Overall great bass ok accesories.

Very Good Starter Bass

By J0nny_N@pa!m

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

I got this bass for Christmas and it's great. You get everything that you would ever need to start playing. I would strongly suggest to any one who likes the SG body, wants to learn bass and is a little short on cash to get this package!Side Note--The cable that you get isn't that great, but will work fine if you are just starting.-The strap is a little small, so if you are a taller person or like your guitar to hang lower get a new strap!

Decent beginner...

By Shadyskull

from Northville

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

This guitar was a decent beginner bass but I was rather unimpressed with the amp. Horrible fret fuzz and sounds almost canned. The picks were nice and the shoulder strap was bearable. If you're just looking for something to jam on once in awhile this is your best bet. But if you want to get serious with playing, go with the Fender Rumble pack, It's amp is way better and the guitar itself is of much better quality but it is a bit of a kick in the wallet. My only problem were the strings and the fact that the guitar refuses to stay in tune, but it's better than nothing and for the price worth it.

Yeah I'm New

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

I recieved this baby just 2 days ago now. It was like Christmas with all the packaging, but nothing was damaged. I'm new to bass, I'm more of a vocalist but our band needs a bass player. I'll learn... I hope. This bass is really nice. I've play a Jackson and I can say That I like this one alot better. Looks good, sounds good. The strings do make some noise but eh. The amp is very nice, good for the money. I'd say this package is a VERY good value. If you're like me and are looking to get started, I'd give this one a look because it is indeed a nice one. Any questions you're more then welcomed to email me.

A Great First Bass For A Great Price

By EB-0

from Rochester, MI

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

I got my EB-0 bass for Christmas and it has not had any major problems. It stays in tune relatively well and has great rock tune. It is not to big or small, good for plucking, and a fun bass to play. I have played other basses, but I still like this one best. I reccomend this bass in Cherry Red, and I would reccomend it to any bass player.

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

This bass is great, I got my first bass from my cousin but after a year it broke down. This is my first bought bass and I love it. The amp sounds great, the tuner works just fine, but I have 1 problem with it; after owning this for 1-2 weeks the strings broke. I did find some new strings that sounded great with this bass, but besides this little problem I think this bass is great and I would recommend it to anyone.P.S. the string I got were Ernie Ball 2832 Regular Slinky Round Wound Bass Strings

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

This guitar is great. You're better off buying this package rather than just the guitar because the guitar alone costs just as much. The amp in this package is almost useless unless you're just going to practice with it, but horrible for band practices. The strings aren't too good on the bass but you can just get some new ones. Overall the guitar is awesome. For the price it's even better.

Its a great guitar for beginers the amp is not so good. For beginers and itermedate players you need a new cord. Pics are pointless. But the case is nice.

Good Start Up Bass

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

If you are gonna play in a band, DO NOT GET THIS BASS. The amp sucks and the bass needs to be tuned way more than it should. Epiphone needs to step it up. Good for starting the whole bass thing or if you just want a bass to mess around on if you play guitar. The amp requires alot of work. The input requires lots of tighting but I fixed that by geting a chrome plate to hold it still( local music shops will do it for $5 to $10)I would recomend a Rogue over this. I went from this to a $130 bass designed for slap. I'm a slap bassist in a metal band. So if someone tries telling you this is a metal bass, they're wrong. This is a beginner bass. It has too much distortion for it to be a metal bass. So I would not buy this again. I've played for 3 years and I used this For 2. I sold it for a Rogue and it rules. I'm shredding like I could never do on my EB-0. Flea couldn't make that bass sound good. I mean get it if you want. Get A JAZZ BASS WITH SINGLE COIL PICKUPS, HUMBUCKERS AND NOT MADE FOR BASSES
