Don't Forget

A beautifully constructed bass complete with top-shelf appoinments and capabilities.

The LTD RB-1005 5-string electric bass rocks a swamp ash body, burled maple solid top, a thin U-shape maple/walnut neck, 34" scale and 22 extra-jumbo frets on a maple fingerboard. And an Aguilar AG 5J-HC bridge pickup & AG 5P-60 neck pickup push all your earth-rumbling notes down the signal path. A Gotoh bridge makes sure your notes have the maximum sustain imaginable, while the Grover tuners keep everything cinched down and in-tune through heavy crunches and string-stretching licks.

Comments about ESP LTD RB-1005 5 String Electric Bass Guitar:

This bass costs nearly as much as Fender Am Std Jazz V, but it came with a terrible factory set up that needed truss adjustment, saddle adjustment and pickup adjustment to eliminate fret buzz and get a decent tone. After basically a good set up, the bass wasn't bad, but did not have nearly as rich and full a tone as my Am Std Jazz with passive p'ups. The RB-1005 is very light weight at under 8 pounds, and the neck felt good, so if you want a fiver that is easy on the back, this bass would be a good choice. It does not come with a case at this price. It is nice looking if you want the modern, jazz player look....

Comments about ESP LTD RB-1005 5 String Electric Bass Guitar:

Solid nicely built bass. I like Rocco but not the reason I bought the bass. I prefer 18mm string spacing on a 34"scale bass. Also prefer lighter weight (< 8.5 lbs is Ideal).

This bass has a great neck, meets all my requirements and has solid pickup. I do prefer a 3 band preamp but the OBP2 works fine. Mine has nice grain and weighs less than 8 lbs. Balances great on a strap, a little neck heavy sitting down. But not annoyingly so.

Out of the box I could have tuned this up and played a gig. After some setup and tweaks to the nut and one or two frets it plays perfect. Low action no buzz. I'm pretty picky about setup and usually have to have a little fret touch up done on all but boutique basses. So this was not a surprise. But setup out of the box was very playable.

Again love the neck and is very stable so far. Everything works as it should and is a unique looking bass. Like it or not. Neck joint is cool too.

P Pickup sounds great on its own and bridge pickup adds some nice bite. Very nice sound, even better when upgraded to a three band pre.
