Step into a more complete electronic drumming experience with a nine-piece configuration, authentic Zildjian cymbal sounds and practical learning tools. Available exclusively at Guitar Center, the Alesis Strike Max electronic drum kit combines a 10" dual-zone mesh snare, three 8" mesh toms, a kick tower and four 10" cymbals—including a second crash—for a complete setup that supports more expressive performances. Its Strike Max module provides 32 factory kits, 16 user-kit locations and 441 drum, cymbal, percussion and sound-effects voices spanning acoustic, rock, pop, jazz, funk, hip-hop and electronic styles. Bluetooth audio streaming, onboard recording and practice functions make it easy to rehearse with music, capture performances and sharpen timing. Lastly, the included BFD Player software and a free Zildjian Session Mix Vol. 1 expansion further extend the Strike Max’s sound library for computer-based practice and production.
Note: Drum throne sold separately.
Strike Max Module Spans 32 Kits and 441 Sounds
The Alesis Strike Max module gives drummers a broad starting palette without requiring extensive sound design. Its 32 factory kits include Deep Rock, Tight Pop, Garage, Acoustic, Funk, Fusion, Jazz, Latin, disco, hip-hop, techno and multiple electronic and drum-machine configurations. An additional 16 user-kit locations let you assemble and save personalized setups from the module's 441 onboard voices, which encompass acoustic and electronic drums, cymbals, percussion and sound effects. Individual kit volume, reverb and three-band EQ settings provide control over the overall mix, while voice-level parameters allow sounds to be tuned and balanced for different playing situations. Together, these tools support acoustic practice, electronic music production and custom kit creation.
9-Piece Configuration Expands the Playing Surface
The Strike Max electronic drum kit centers on a 10" dual-zone mesh snare that separates head and rim response for more varied snare articulations. Three 8" mesh tom pads provide a familiar three-tom layout, while the 6" kick tower accommodates the included kick pedal for bass drum technique. Its four-cymbal configuration comprises a 10" hi-hat with controller pedal, 10" ride, 10" chokeable crash and an additional 10" crash, giving drummers more room for accents and cymbal movement than a basic three-cymbal setup. The pads and module mount to a four-post aluminum rack that can be adjusted around the player, and the mesh heads help keep acoustic playing noise manageable during home practice.
Zildjian and BFD Expand the Sound Library
Authentic Zildjian cymbal sounds provide a defining voice within the Strike Max drum module, bringing professionally recorded cymbal options to its factory and user kits. Zildjian branding on all four cymbal pads also gives the physical setup an immediately recognizable identity. For computer-based playing and recording, the kit includes BFD Player virtual drum software along with a free download of the Zildjian Session Mix Vol. 1 expansion, a $99 value. The expansion adds further Zildjian sounds to the BFD environment, while additional compatible BFD and Zildjian packs provide a path for building a larger software library over time. This combination allows the kit to serve as both a self-contained instrument and a controller for expandable virtual drums.
Practice Tools Help Improve Timing and Technique
Built-in tools give beginning and advancing drummers several ways to practice without relying on additional equipment. The module includes 60 play-along songs, a metronome with a 30–280 bpm tempo range and a performance recorder capable of storing approximately 1,600 notes. Its dedicated Learning mode adds 20 beats, 12 rhythms and 10 patterns, with options for guided practice and scored performances. Players can mute prerecorded drum parts to take over the groove themselves, then listen back to recorded performances to evaluate timing and accuracy. A device shelf keeps a phone or tablet within reach, while the included 90-day Drumeo subscription provides structured online instruction for developing technique, coordination and repertoire.
Connectivity Supports Practice, Recording and Performance
The Strike Max’s functionality also includes Bluetooth audio streaming, allowing drummers to wirelessly play along with songs, lessons and other audio from a compatible mobile device. A stereo auxiliary input provides a wired alternative, while the 1/8" headphone output supports private practice. Stereo 1/4" outputs connect the module to a drum monitor, amplification system or mixer for louder rehearsals and performances. The USB-B port sends MIDI data to a computer, allowing the pads to trigger BFD Player, other supported virtual instruments or a digital audio workstation; audio is not transmitted through the USB connection. Whether used for daily practice, home recording or controlling virtual drum instruments, the Guitar Center Exclusive Alesis Strike Max electronic drum set provides a flexible platform that can grow alongside developing drummers.
Alesis Strike Max 9-Piece Electronic Drum Kit: FAQ
Is the Alesis Strike Max suitable for beginning drummers?
Yes. The Strike Max combines mesh drum pads, built-in learning exercises, a metronome, play-along songs and recording functions that support timing, coordination and technique development. Its expanded nine-piece configuration also gives advancing players a more complete layout for developing fills, cymbal movement and footwork.
How many drum kits and sounds does the Alesis Strike Max include?
The Strike Max module includes 32 factory kits, 16 user-kit locations and 441 drum, cymbal, percussion and sound-effects voices. Its factory presets cover styles including rock, pop, jazz, funk, fusion, Latin, disco, hip-hop, techno, acoustic drums and electronic drum machines.
Does the Alesis Strike Max include authentic Zildjian cymbal sounds?
Yes. Authentic Zildjian cymbal sounds are included in the Strike Max module and supported through the included BFD Player software. The kit also includes the Zildjian Session Mix Vol. 1 expansion, while additional compatible BFD and Zildjian sound packs are available separately.
Can the Alesis Strike Max connect to a computer or recording software?
Yes. The module's USB-B port sends MIDI data to a computer, allowing the pads to control BFD Player, compatible virtual instruments and a digital audio workstation. The USB connection does not transmit audio, so the module's stereo output must be connected to compatible recording equipment to capture its onboard sounds.
