Comments about Roland PM-200 V-Drum Speaker System:

I've seen other reviews complaining about cost, which like most well executed designs, by Roland or anyone else, tend to veer higher. As for this purchase, I was able to grab a pristine "open box" unit (-12%), and had some MF buyer points available, so was able to get at a nice shipped price. Yes, a 20% discount helped.

All of us trade dough for for gear here at MF and other places, fundamentally, to improve the noises we make. Now I'm not sure if it's Roland's new bi-amping scheme, or the newly designed coaxial speaker system, or the overall design of this new V-Drums monitor. I DO know that the tonal clarity all the way through the sound spectrum with the testing I've done so far using various settings (using my Roland Handsonic 10) blows my old Simmons DA200S,...an, as we say in Minnesota, not-too-bad drum amp itself,...out of the water. The system can get pretty loud as well.

I wish it had a gain control for the line-outs, but that's small potatoes. I am pleased. And as the picture shows, coupling it with my Turbosound powered 15" sub, I will fear no guitarist. LOL!

Comments about Roland PM-200 V-Drum Speaker System:

Yes, pleased with this amp. An improvement in sound over my Simmons DA200S (which is also a pretty nice piece of gear). However another undeniable plus is this Roland's weighing in at a full 10 lbs less than the Simmons.
One comment though, I believe I recall the MF description saying the speaker (low frequency 12", and 1" tweeter) being described as "coaxial", when there are actually two separate drivers.
