About Ernie Ball Music Man RS Series Guitars:

The Ernie Ball Music Man RS Series features StingRay and Cutlass guitars with a premium roasted figured maple neck and custom wound pickups. The two-pickup StingRay and three-pickup Cutlass have been at the forefront of electric guitar design from their beginnings. Each set a new standard for sonic sweetness and playability in a bolt-on-neck instrument. Descended from iconic designs of the 1950s, these RS Series guitars have been proudly Made in the USA by Ernie Ball Music Man from day one.

The StingRay, introduced in 1978, was the first guitar design from the company, and the Stingray RS version maintains the original specifications with vintage spec humbuckers and the acclaimed Music Man Modern tremolo system with vintage-style bent steel saddles. The biggest change for this latest generation is the resonant roasted maple neck. Roasting the neck wood increases stability, decreases weight and helps transmit more vibrations from neck to body, increasing sustain and overall tone. The guitar comes with roasted maple, rosewood or ebony fingerboards, depending on your choice of finish.

Introduced in 1982, the Cutlass RS presents the classic three-pickup design, which is now available in both a traditional three single-coil version and a new HSS edition with a custom-wound ceramic humbucker in the bridge position. Also boasting the new roasted maple necks, the Cutlass RS features Ernie Ball Music Man's wide-spectrum Silent Circuit, which maintains true single-coil sound while virtually eliminating hum.

The latest edition to the available finishes for both Ernie Ball Music Man RS series guitars is the Stealth version. Bearing a matte black finish with black hardware, it is a perfect fit for guitarists in search of their darker side.
