A resonant and versatile left-handed tenor ukulele.
The Martin TKE Tenor left-handed acoustic-electric ukulele brings classic Hawaiian sound. Crafted in the USA with solid koa wood from Hawaii, it resonates with the rich, warm tone that made Martin a legend among ukulele players. Martin's first tenor ukuleles rolled off the production line in 1929 and have been a favorite of countless players since. With its tenor size, it projects pleasing volume without being bulky or cumbersome. Equipped with Mi-Si electronics, the TKE Tenor uke lets you plug in for amplified performances with crisp, balanced tone. The TKE Tenor left-handed ukulele gives left-handed players the chance to enjoy Hawaiian-style playing in an accessible, great-sounding uke.
Crafted From Solid Hawaiian Koa Wood for Rich, Resonant Tone
The top, back and sides of the TKE Tenor ukulele are made from solid koa wood, grown in Hawaii. Koa has a gorgeous appearance, with an interlocking grain that ranges from golden brown to reddish hues. But more importantly, koa is prized by ukulele players for its marvelous tonal qualities. It has the resonance and warmth to really make your ukulele sing. The koa wood gives the TKE Tenor uke a lush, rich voice that beautifully conveys Hawaiian tradition.
Equipped With Mi-Si Electronics for Plugged-in Versatility
While the TKE Tenor uke sounds fantastic unplugged, Martin also equipped it with Mi-Si electronics for plugged-in playing. The Mi-Si system is specially voiced to complement the uke's natural acoustic tone, giving you amplified sound that retains the koa wood's warmth and resonance. It lets you easily plug into an amp or PA system for live performances and adds versatility for studio recording. The electronics provide up to 16 hours of playing time on a 60-second quick charge so you'll always be ready to amplify.
Satin Neck and Gloss Body Offer Smooth Playability
The TKE Tenor ukulele has a comfortable satin finish on its select hardwood neck. The smooth feel lets your fingers glide easily up and down the neck as you play. The solid koa body has an elegant gloss finish that allows the wood's beauty to shine through. Together, the satin neck and gloss body make this an exceptionally playable instrument.
Tenor Size Provides Ample Projection and Volume
The TKE Tenor ukulele is larger than a soprano or concert uke, but still portable and comfortable to hold. The tenor size gives it a strong voice that projects pleasing volume without being overpowering. It's ideal for jam sessions, live performances and everyday playing. The TKE Tenor uke's size also contributes to its rich, resonant tone.
Left-Handed Model Designed for Comfort
The TKE Tenor ukulele is available in a left-handed model with an included softshell case. The strings are arranged for left-handed playing and the body is a mirror image of the right-handed version. Lefties can now enjoy the classic ukulele experience without awkward restringing or playing right-handed models upside down. With the TKE Tenor Left-Handed uke, left-hand dominance is no obstacle to Hawaiian-style fun.
