A bold electric guitar with exceptional playability for thick, rich tone.
The Dean Thoroughbred John Connolly electric guitar struts serious rock attitude with its sleekly arched flame maple top and mahogany body. Combining contemporary esthetics with classic tonewoods, it's built for resonant, full-bodied sound that projects with authority. The Thoroughbred's ebony fingerboard sports 22 jumbo frets and a fast 12" radius for speedy leads and wide bends. Its dual USA Dean humbucking pickups can be blended via the 3-way toggle switch, yielding a spectrum of tones from glassy and articulate to thick and saturated. Precision Grover 18:1 tuners and a TonePros tune-o-matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece keep the Thoroughbred rock-solidly in tune, even under heavy playing. The guitar comes complete with a padded gig bag, providing safe transport and storage.
Resonant Tonewoods Shape the Thoroughbred's Voice
The Thoroughbred gets its bold, projecting voice from a body crafted with resonant tonewoods. Its sleekly arched flame maple top contributes clarity, articulation and sweet, singing overtones. The mahogany back and sides offer a balanced tonal foundation with full lows, focused mids and clear treble response. Together, they yield a vibrant, well-rounded tone that handles overdriven crunch and clean shimmer with aplomb. The Thoroughbred's contoured body shape also enhances playability, with an ergonomic forearm contour and a ribcage cutaway for comfort.
Fast and Smooth Feel With Ebony Fingerboard
An ebony fingerboard graces the Thoroughbred's fast C-profile maple neck, providing a smooth surface and jumbo frets for speedy leads. Its 12" radius feels familiar to electric players, facilitating wide string bends with comfort. The ebony fingerboard also yields warm, rounded mids and tight lows to complement the guitar's articulate voice. Its 22 frets give you ample room to solo beyond the octave. Pearl dot inlays provide an elegant visual accent while aiding position reference.
Dial in Your Tone With Dual Humbuckers
A pair of Dean USA humbucking pickups puts tonal versatility at your fingertips, easily selected via a 3-way toggle switch. The bridge 'backer has an open, articulate voice that cuts through a mix while retaining note clarity and definition. At the neck, warm, round mids sing with richness and body. Toggle between them to craft anything from glassy funk rhythms to blistering rock solos. Volume and tone knobs offer further fine-tuning of your sound.
