A stunning matched set!

A stunning matched set! Grammy winner and Fender signature artist John Mayer has teamed up with Fender for a second limited run, pairing a custom John Mayer Incase tour bag with a matching Artist series Stratocaster electric guitar in a Cypress Mica finish. The guitar's C-shaped maple neck sports a satin finish and African rosewood fretboard with big Dunlop 6105 frets for a super-comfortable, fast feel you can really dig into. Gloss finish on headstock face and vintage '50s decal combine with 3-ply parchment pickguard and unique Cypress Mica finish for a fabulous look.

The alder body sports an American vintage synchronized tremolo with five springs. The back tremolo cover plate is included, but not installed. The string tree is slightly closer to the nut, just the way John Mayer likes it. Three Big Dipper single-coil Strat pickups have a special "scooped" midrange voicing. Amp knobs replace traditional tone and volume knobs on the guitar for an even more unique look.

A Beautiful Strat for an affordable price

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I recently purchased the John Mayer Limited Edition Strat. The clean tone on this instrument is quite clear, the Big Dipper pickups sounding very nice and crisp. For a lead tone just put it through a tube amp with a nice tubescreamer in front of it and the thing really sings. The only drawback is the whammy bar on it is not as responsive as it could be, but I don't know how fender whammy bars go in general so I can't really compare to other strat models. The icing on the cake is of course the very nice Incase that comes with the guitar. Although the velcro things are a bit cheesy, it is very lightweight but protective at the same time. If you are looking for that killer John Mayer Tone or for something nice and bluesy, this strat is a safe bet.

i just purchased this limited edition JM strat in fact i got one of the last ones from the fender factory on their last run of making them. They only made 18 in the last one and i got one of those. This guitar is versatile. Even though it is a JM strat it sounds great when playing other types of music as well as Mayer like ska or dispatch. I plug it into my hot rod deville and fender bassman and it sounds awesome.

Great Strat!

The John Mayer Strat is great. I bought one for my wife from a local store. The guitar I bought did not have any flaws.Great features include: I never played a faster strat neck before. The neck is really more of a modern C-neck than a thick C-neck. The jumbo-narrow 6105 frets are great! Also, the large frets makes bends really easy, especially on the high E and B strings. Regarding the tone, it sounds like a SRV signature strat (with Texas Specials) but with less mid range.
