It's all about the neck


You could own the greatest guitar, but if you don't connect with the neck, forget it. Fortunately, that's not a problem with the Player Plus. Made of maple, it has Modern C profile that all of us at Musician's Friend found comfortable. The rounded fretboard edges contribute to that feel. The pickups are powerful and hum-free

With Fender's fourth generation of Noiseless single coils, you'll get nothing but a sweet signal when recording and playing live. The Alnico V magnets have a beefier output; a push/push control lets switch between series and parallel wiring. Parallel wiring is traditional for a Telecaster, but with series, the output of the bridge pickup funnels to the input of the neck pickup. It's a great way to thicken your sound and drive your amp.

It's easy to restring with locking tuners


We're suckers for vintage guitars as much as you are, but old-school tuners aren't always up to snuff. Fortunately, the Player Plus Telecaster has modern locking tuners. Changing strings is no longer a chore. Once they get gunky, you can slap on a new set in record time. These high-ratio tuners pair nicely with the six-saddle string-thru bridge for precise intonation.
