Gibson rocks the O.C.

By kraxoc

from Orange County California

Now, I don't know what to do with all my other guitar's being that they just can't compare to my new Gibson. I hope I never break a string while playing live because I can't imagine having to replace it with one of my other guitars. I highly recommend the purchase of this guitar. Although it may be pricey it is well worth it and you won't be dissapointed.

One real nice Les Paul

I wanted to post a review now that I have owned mine for a while and logged some serious time on it. This is the 7th new paul for me and we have a winner. I set it up with 10's when I bought it, it's a 2004, and she has just got better with time. I can tune this puppy up and rock all nite. Over time I have learned to just love the tone of this guitar, distorted or clean, and she's a real looker. I have the Santa Fe Sunrise, AA tops are not what they used to be but I got lucky my top had a lot of nice deep flame. I have several guitars and this one has risen to the top. Great playability, great tone and built to last. I have never been happier with a Les Paul. If you are looking at a Les Paul play a few of these!!

Worth the hefty price tag.

By Gibson Guy

This is the absolute best guitar I have ever played. SUSTAIN, SUSTAIN, SUSTAIN. I have played almost every guitar out there, and I can honestly say my hunt is over. This thing plays like a dream. Doesn't feel as heavy as the regular standard les paul. The midnight blue is beautiful.

Out of all the guitars I own like a Fender Telecaster, Washburn, Jackson, Explorer, SG,Les Paul you name it. The Les Paul is my favorite. I would recomend this guitar for a guitarist that has been playing for awhile. Now you could look at the Epifone Les Pauls, I had one of those first.

The Best Guitar for my needs

Gibson Created A Monster

By ...ofAshes

I've been playing for 12 years, I've owned many amazing guitars, and I've played even more. This Les Paul is by far the greatest and most beautiful creation I've ever laid my hands on. Everything about it, from the mindblowing tone of the Burstbuckers to the amazingly manueverable 60's neck, is perfect. Gibson could not have put together a finer masterpiece than the Standard Limited. This was the best $2500 I've ever spent. And hell, that's a bargain for this phenomenal piece of equipment! You rock Gibson!

Best deal from Gibson!

By Lance Hightower

from Sandy Ego, Kalifornia

I got a sante fe sunrise that looks amazing. I put regular kluson tuners on and white speed barrel knobs to match the trim and binding. Now it looks even better. It plays great and sounds even better, along the lines of a fine les paul custom. Mine came with a flame mahogany neck and body. Pretty trick stuff from Gibson these days. Custom shop quality at an affordable price. It's better than akmost all the 50's reissue models I have had. Just a better guitar, that's all. Captures center stage with that incredible finish that really looks like the sun. Way to go, Gibson!

Les paul standard Limited Edition 2004

I bought the LP LE standard, and couldn't be happier with it. The manhatten midnight is the nicest color i have ever seen on a LP. It changes colors under the lights. For tone, It sounds Great with the 2 burst buckers in there. If you're looking for a Super heavy metal sound you'll prob need to change them then. I love the ebony fret board. The guitar is Heavy in weight, but if you get a decent strap it helps. Overall, I love it and it was a great buy.

This thing ROCKS

I own quite a few guitars and actually wanted the Zakk Wylde Custom but couldn't justify the extra expense. I Have the EMG's in a Jackson and figured I would just swap them. I plugged this thing up through my MESA Triple Rec and a half stack and was blown away. The Tone is amazing, the Alnico pickups in this one just simply rock. The 60's neck with the ebony fingerboard is fat enough for those with big hands and awesome for blazing solos. I swapped strings immediately since the .09s on this thing felt like rubber bands on it. I threw on a set of GHS boomer Zakk Wylde edition strings (think aircraft carrier landing strip wires) and now the sustain, tone and capability for harmonics are amazing. If I could change anything at all, I would add some locking tuners on it and that's it.

Essentially the nicest Gibson in its price range

By paganchristmas

from Westchester, NY

This is a wonderful instrument. The colors in the LE series are nicer than anything I've seen from Gibson that isn't a custom. The ebony fretboard and bustbuckers match the look in terms of the sound quality that is produced. Of course, as with any les paul, the tone is amazing--perfect for just about anything. For jazz, there's nothing better in my opinion. As stated in some of the other reviews, the tuners and knobs are a bit tacky--which is a shame because a slight improvement in that sector would make this a near-perfect instrument. However, those are easily replaced, and do not diminish the superiority of this guitar vs. other 60s neck Les Pauls. Definitely worth the extra couple hundred bucks--so if you haven't purchased a Les Paul before, this is a fine way to start. I am perfectly satisfied.

What an amazing instrument. I picked this guitar up about a month ago in the Santa Fe Finish, and the 60's slim neck. I never regret or will regret this purchase for a moment. Amazing playablilty, fast and comfortable neck, and sustain to die for. I definitely recommend the 60's neck.

my first guitar!!!!!

By a very happy playa

from Lahaina, HI

i was very hesitant about buying this guitar cause it was very pricy. but i wanted my first guitar to be a good one. not some cheap low quality-toned guitar that will probably only last me for about 5 years. i wanted one that will last me a life time and looks really good with great tone to back up those looks. so i bought this baby in manhatten midnight 'cause it looks different from the rest. i have played fenders, yamahas, and ibanezes and this is by far the the best guitar i've ever heard. not only does it look good but the tone is simply amazing. i've heard people say that it actually makes you play better, and to my suprise it actually does make you play at a higher level. whether it's on clean or overdrive, this beast rocks (not to mention how loud it can go with crystal clear quality). not bad for my first guitar. thank you Gibson.

My girl just got me the Midnight Manhattan for Xmas. What a present & what a woman! It's beautiful and the tome is to die for. Of course, the tuners suck and the knobs look cheap. These are small options easily fixed but Gibson could've improved on that. Overall, a fantastic guitar with stunning tone & looks.

This is an excellent guitar. If you want a level up from the standard then i would choose this guitar. Or if you have a little extra $ i would definitely buy this guitat!

By gibshall2007

What a guitar simply amazing.this is an all around bold guitar. It's heavy which i like ,Solos scream like never before , And the looks are better than most custom shop guitars. This version of the standard is a little more expensive than others but you can see why.

Les Is More

By Scarecrowhunk

If you desire an unconventional colored Les Paul that is a real ?looker?, then seek no more. The one I have has a gentle flamed book matched top that is not over powering, but just darn fantastic. They call it Manhattan midnight, but they should call just call it ?Blue-tiful?. I always liked the ebony finger board on the customs, but gold hard ware does not hold up. The pickups are not as ?hot? in my judgment as 1960 classic, but this a fantastic sounding guitar. Beautiful quality, tone, but, like all Gibsons, a little pricey. But sometimes it?s worth the cover charge to get into the club.
