Comments about Ibanez Performance PN1MHOPN Mahogany Parlor Acoustic Guitar:

I was looking for a guitar that is smaller in size so I could put it in the back of the jeep and pull it out and practice. I didn't want to bang up my more expensive guitars. I like the fact that this Ibanez has an all Mahogany construction. Other I looked at in this price range were a softer wood which would be more susceptible to warping. I like to get to church at 0730 and read the Bible and other things when church don't start 'til 0915. I figured I could take this guitar to church with me to practice my gospel music while waiting for church to start due to it's size it would be easy to carry around. The finish is excellent and the fit is perfect. The sound is somewhat twangy, but I would expect that from a parlor sized guitar. The guitar has a full sized sound hole in a small bodied guitar which looks somewhat unproportioned, however I think if the sound hole was smaller the guitar would look more proportional and the guitar would produce a richer sound. I also think the stock strings are too heavy for this guitar. I'm going to change the string for Martin MPS-4100PK3 Phosphorus Bronze lights. The lighter softer strings should produce a better, less twangy, sound. All in all very please with this guitar.
