OVERVIEW

A hard rocker that's easy on the pocket.

The 2008 Jackson JS30 Electric Guitar has a Dinky-style alder body, maple neck with reversed headstock, and rosewood fretboard nicely equipped with jumbo frets. A JT500 double-locking trem, 2 Jackson CVR pickups, and chrome hardware round out the Jackson JS30 guitar. Jackson includes volume, tone, and a 3-way switch to giver the JS30 electric guitar simple sound management.

Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better!

I bought this guitar from guitar center and they drop shipped it to my house. Everything came great and the service was excellent; however, the tremelo system was terrible. I tried setting it up many times and I just couldn't get it to not go out of tune if I used the Floyd Rose. The action on the guitar also had to be set up as it was a bit high and the neck appears to be a little bowed. Another thing is that the Floyd Rose was put in slightly crooked and it messed up the strings. The neck on this guitar feels very nice and it's very easy to play. I would've kept this guitar if it weren't for all of the problems with the Floyd Rose. This guitar appears to be great with all the features, but the part's quality just isn't there.

This guitar is definitely one of my favorites of my small collection and I have not even had if for a month. I recently purchased it. In the music store I compared it to many guitars in this price range. It blew them all away.First of all, I got it in the trans black, and it looks beautiful. The pickups do an excellent job and gives it a good metal crunch under distortion, even though I just used the overdrive channel on a Marshall MG50DFX. I usually use a electronics set up with knobs controlling certain pickups, like one on a Les Paul, but I can certainly adjust to this. The Jackson Licensed Floyd Rose works out well and it stays in tune well, though it is a pain in the butt to re-string. I couldn't be happier with this guitar, though.

    Awsome!!

I have had this guitar for about 3 months now and I can honestly say it is one of the best guitars I have ever used! I play in a metal band and have this guitar tuned in Drop A# and it holds the tuning like no other! The floyd rose is amazing and easy to use. The pickups deliver what you would expect from a Jackson...Pure Brutallity!! They sound great with distortion and even on a clean chanel. Overall I am totally impressed with the work Jackson put into making these guiatrs. You won't be dissapointed in this amazing product from Jackson.

    Awesome axe

    By Badhorsie

i dont own this guitar first off. I got a guitar for x-mas but it was a les paul studio (the one without the finish). I regret little about buying it, but the one thing i wanted was a floyd rose or any locking whammy (I listen to van halen and pantera, so..). I played this guitar at my friends house. I'll be honest, its lacking in the cosmetics department, a.k.a. it's ugly, but the sound is incredible. It's almost as good sounding as my new les paul, and for the price, its simply astounding. Buy it or regret it.

    Get a Gibson or Fender

I purchased this guitar, owned it for about three months, played it everyday and the following problem occured. The frets wore out, thats right, they wore out. More specifically, the little e string indented the frets and whenever I would bend the string it would catch on the fret and it wouldn't ring out right. Overall bad quality.

This guitar is truly amazing! I have had it for several months now and I must say it is the best money I've ever spent. And although I encountered slight problems with the volume knob and string locks, this guitar makes up for it with amazing playability and sound(not to mention the Floyd Rose double locking tremelo). I recommend this to anybody with a genuine respect for guitars, and is ready for the ride of their life!

    meh....

This is my 9th guitar in two years.....I was stupid and traded my $500 Ibanez RG for one of these (my friends are going to kill me). Don't get me wrong, I like this almost as much as my ESP Standard, except for the pickups. The guitar I have is from the year 2000, and it has changed hands a lot. But when I got it, a knob was missing, the tremolo arm was missing, and the headstock was broken in two places. Despite these flaws, this is pretty good guitar for the price. The pickups just plain suck, except for one the clean channel. I'm putting in a Seymour Duncan SH-6 Distortion at the neck and a DiMarzio X2N at the bridge.

    Awesomely priced shred machine

I got this guitar less than a week ago at Guitar Center and instantly loved it. It weighs next to nothing when compared to my Stratocaster and the reverse headstock just adds to it's coolness. This is one of the few guitars that can pull off having awesome features with a "dinky" pricetag. A licensed Floyd Rose trem and locking nut is enough to make you want to get it. The only little dissapointment was with the humbuckers, they look like EMGs so I was expecting a better sound but they're still higher quality than open-coils. Get this guitar if you want a Dinky but don't feel like paying for one!

This guitar kicks serious a**. I have had it for 2 years and it's never let me down. The Floyd Rose always keeps it in tune and it has a very versatile range of tones. I just think that it could use an extra tone knob and maybe 24 frets instead of 22. It's one of the best deals around!

this guitar is outstanding for the price, obviously you cant compare it to the soloist or another guitar of that price range, but the neck action is incredible and i love the floyd rose bridge, i honestly think this is the best guitar in its price range.

    Simply Amazing

    By Sarge-sB8Xh

After I started playing on a cheap fender strat copy I then moved on to a cheap SG copy. so you can only imagine when I finally got the guts to buy something like this. From the second I plugged it in I was blown away at its playability and sound. the pickups on it are awesome, although I may switch them out for some EMG's. The action is almost too perfect. It's as low as it can go without that annoying buzzing. the low profile neck allows you to reach those bottom strings, no problem, and combined with the low action allows you to pull out an amazing shred solo at any time. The body is a tad on the heavy side but it's almost not noticeable. I love this guitar, and I don't think that I will ever git rid of it. It's perfect for a beginner player who wants to get serious and really play. I love it, and recommend it to beginners and pros alike.

I've had my trans. blue version for a month now. I play a wide variety of styles from Metal to jazz. This guitar can deliver whatever style tone you may need. The price was a great bonus as well...I have 5 Jacksons now. But, this one has become my main axe for it's versitility and, looks of course. I highly recommend buying one!

    The Ultimate Metal Guitar

    By blackDEATH

i've owned this for about 6 months now. and i'd say it's a pretty good guitar. amazing distortion. but it's a little tough to play in the lower frets '12-22' (that's my opinion ;) ). i would recommmend this for only metal guitarists.others won't sound that smooth....

    Dinkys rule.

    By -Killing On Adrenaline-

This guitar is amazing, the features are awesome. It sounds great, plays great and looks great. The only slightest problem, was that the bridge was slightly tilted, causing the 21st and 22nd fret on the 1st string to buzz a little. But that was easily fixed. I got the transparent black finish and its pretty cool. The tone is nice, the stock pickups are ok, But i had an SD invader installed on mine, and it sounds beautiful. It doesnt hurt to improve on somthing good. Its a great metal guitar, and i love it.

The minute i picked up this guitar i knew tht our love was meant to be. The floyd rose is stunning!! It is so easy to do a squeal or dive bomb i learned how 2 do it within 24 hours. The neck is slim. It makes it easier to do faster passages. Not like isane speed like Herman li fast but like Randy Rhoads or Zakk Wylde. It was worth every penny. The stock pickups give off a great tone on Heavy Distortion. So buy it and have fun!!

I just recieved one of these guitars the other day. I have to admit, this is my dream guitar! Years ago, I saw a similar model. I liked it, but didn't buy it. I made up for that mistake with buying this one. I've owned many guitars, but this one is the best. It might have cost me a bit, but it was all worth it! Struggling with a Floyd Rose Tremolo might take time, but again, it turns out great when all the maintenance is taken care of. I'm impressed with not just this Jackson product, but all of them. I've owned a Jackson before, but nothing like this!

    good guitar

This is a good guitar but by no means the best out there at the price. It's a fast guitar has pretty good features, but i'd rather have an Ibanez RG series guitar. The liscenced trem is alright stays in tune well. Ibanez's Floyd liscenced Edge trem is better. I'd shoot for an original schaller made floyd any day. The thin fast neck is nice as well as the jumbo frets and i like the look of the reversed neck. I play this through a Line 6 HD150 Halfstack and it sounds pretty good. I'd recommend you get nicer pickups but those will do you fine for jammin at home. Good guitar. Great Buy. I'd recommend it.

    WOW

    By Mike-eJ1CX

i played this guitar at my local guitar store last night and i was so amazed by it. None of the other guitars that i played around this price range even came close. Someone said the pickups suck and they hum but they def didn't.The fret board was the easiest to slide on that i've tried. It was also pretty light weight compared to the tele's. I think the frets are closer together than some other guitars b-c i had no problem stretching to play last resort like i normally do. I'm def buying this guitar!
