A signature Soloist built for versatile 7-string performance.
Purpose-built to meet the demands of one of modern metal's formidable seven-string players, the Jackson Pro Series Signature Chris Rörland Soloist SL7 combines extended-range power, technical precision and tuning stability in a sleek neck-through design. As lead guitarist for Swedish metal powerhouse Sabaton, Chris balances massive rhythm work with melodic, technically demanding leads, placing equal demands on every part of his instrument. The SL7 answers with a nyatoh Soloist body built around a graphite-reinforced three-piece maple neck-through core, creating a solid, responsive foundation for his playing. A 26.5" scale and compound-radius ebony fingerboard provide the control and definition essential to extended-range performance, while active EMG 81-7H and 85-7H pickups deliver high-output clarity and sustain. A recessed Floyd Rose 1000 Series 7-string tremolo provides expressive pitch control with double-locking stability. Finished in Satin Black with white body binding, black hardware and a clean, inlay-free fingerboard, this signature 7-string Soloist carries Chris' performance-focused approach through every detail.
Neck-Through Soloist Construction Built for Speed and Sustain
The Chris Rörland Soloist SL7 builds its streamlined foundation around a nyatoh Soloist body and three-piece maple neck-through construction, creating a continuous structural connection through the center of the instrument. Graphite reinforcement adds stability to the neck, while the sculpted Soloist shape provides unobstructed access to all 24 frets for demanding lead work across the extended range. A satin color-matched neck finish maintains a smooth feel as the fretting hand moves between positions, while one-ply white body binding provides sharp visual contrast against the Satin Black finish. The result is a sleek, purposeful platform designed around the speed, access and stability Chris' playing requires.
26.5" Scale and Compound-Radius Ebony Fingerboard for Technical Playability
A 26.5" scale gives the Soloist SL7 added tension and definition across its seven strings, helping the extended low range remain focused while supporting precise articulation across complex rhythm and lead passages. The ebony fingerboard transitions from a rounder 12" radius in the lower positions to a flatter 16" radius higher up the neck, balancing comfortable fretting with a fast surface for bends and technical lead work. Twenty-four jumbo frets provide ample room for precise articulation across the full register, while an inlay-free playing surface maintains the guitar's stripped-down aesthetic. Luminlay side dots provide clear position reference in low-light stage environments.
EMG 81-7H and 85-7H Pickups Deliver Focused Extended-Range Power
Active EMG humbuckers give the Soloist SL7 the output, clarity and sustain needed to keep seven-string parts defined through dense arrangements. The ceramic-loaded 81-7H bridge pickup uses close-aperture coils for detailed response, strong high-end cut and fluid sustain, helping heavy rhythm work stay articulate while leads push clearly through the mix. In the neck position, the Alnico V 85-7H provides a muscular response with a smoother lead character and broad tonal versatility. A single volume control and three-way toggle keep the electronics intentionally direct, providing immediate access to the bridge pickup, both pickups together or the neck pickup without unnecessary controls between the player and the amp.
Floyd Rose 1000 Series Delivers Seven-String Tremolo Stability
A recessed Floyd Rose 1000 Series 7-string double-locking tremolo gives the Soloist SL7 the tuning stability and expressive range required for aggressive pitch effects across all seven strings. By locking the strings at both the bridge and nut, the system helps maintain tuning through deep dives, dramatic bends and demanding performance, while the recessed installation provides room for movement in either direction. Jackson sealed die-cast tuning machines provide precise adjustment during setup and string changes, and locking strap buttons add security for energetic stage use. Black hardware throughout maintains the instrument's understated Satin Black aesthetic while keeping the focus on performance.
Chris Rörland's Approach to Seven-String Metal
Since joining Sabaton in 2012, Swedish guitarist Chris Rörland has become a central part of the band's imposing guitar sound, contributing to albums including Heroes, The Great War and The War to End All Wars. His playing combines the weight and range of seven-string rhythm work with melodic leads and technically demanding soloing, requiring an instrument that can move between power and precision. The SL7 reflects that approach with neck-through construction, a compound-radius ebony fingerboard, active EMG pickups and a double-locking Floyd Rose tremolo—all brought together in a focused seven-string platform shaped around Chris' style. Complete with an included Jackson gig bag, the Jackson Pro Series Signature Chris Rörland Soloist SL7 brings that combination of power, precision and expression from rehearsal to the stage.
