OVERVIEW

A D-14 with plenty of sustain and aesthetically contrasting tonewoods.

The 6-string Martin DX1RAE acoustic-electric guitar features a D-14 platform, a dreadnought body designed to produce a powerful, rich sound that is perfect for live performance and in the studio. Pairing the Sitka spruce top with the rosewood-pattern HPL back and sides, the DX1RAE guitar has a clear, balanced tone, with all the sustain and dynamic range you have come to expect from a Martin guitar. The mortise-and-tenon neck joint ensures solid construction of the guitar, with optimal resonant tone, while eliminating drop-off in the finer dynamics.

The Martin guitar's laminate birch neck is a multilayered wood creation, bonding layers of wood under extremely high pressure. The material is then carved and finished in a conventional manner. The end result is a very strong neck that provides definition and articulate sustain from note to note.

The modified low oval neck shape, 25.4 in. scale, 1-11/16 in. nut width, and 16 in. radius provide comfort and dexterity when performing intricate movements and progressions along the black Richlite fretboard.

This X Series Martin acoustic guitar comes compete with the Fishman Sonitone. The Fishman Sonitone features a soundhole-mounted preamp with rotary controls for Volume and Tone. The controls are mounted conveniently under the soundhole. All you have to do is plug in and play. You’ll have a great acoustic guitar sound, right out of the box.

Dressed in a hand-rubbed finish, rosewood HPL headplate, and chrome tuners, this guitar has the look and sound of a highly collectible Martin guitar, but goes for a price that anyone can afford. Embrace the dream of owning your very own Martin guitar, at a price that is too good to pass up.

The Martin DX1RAE guitar arrives stage ready-just plug them in and play.

Comments about Martin X Series DX1RAE Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

OK I don't want you be shocked like I was after opening the box! First the guitar was a BD Gift. So I opted to keep an open mind. Just for piece of mind I called to ask if I could return it. MusiciansFriend was very firm, of course I could at any time within the 45 days. So here is the SHOCKER this guitar looks and feels like a **kitchen counter top**, LOL. Formica to be exact. Yup plastic kinda. Don't let that put you off. Buy for it for the sound, or the set up. The set up is fantastic this is a very easy guitar to play. You can play it for hrs your fingers won't hurt. My eppy is solid wood, and I haven't touched it since I got the Martin. It has a big, bold, full, rich sound, that none of my others guitar have. I love it.

Comments about Martin X Series DX1RAE Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

did have to adjust the action on the strings, easy fix if you know how, if not consult a certified dealer .strings were old and had to change them. they had a flat sound upon chording. new ones brought it to life sounds great now. not like a d- 28 but very close. great guitar for the money you will spend on other brands highly recommend the dx1rae.

Comments about Martin X Series DX1RAE Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

It's a Sound Head Turner For Sure . Sweet One , Very easy to play , even a set of Dunlop 12-54s will make it sound good . Great projection , just have to be very careful to not bang EDGES of Body into anything , only downside GREAT Guitar absolute Fine workmanship . Plays and sounds better than Real Martins had in the 80s/ They have it down to a science .
