This guitar is amazing! Over the years I always wanted one, but just couldn't go the route of buying one. I finally got sick of having issues with all of my other guitars and bit the bullet to get this. WOW, was I surprised when I got it!

First impressions, the weight of the guitar is solid! Alot of complaints about the weight, pickups, and other things, but it feels great about this guitar. You can hear the acoustic resonance of the strings when the guitar is unplugged. The Mahogany body really enhances the sound and balance. The matte finish gives it an excellent feel and touch. Solid neck bolt on body and man oh man does the all black look good! (white one will be incoming soon!!!!)

I traded in my Epiphone Dot and I am so glad that I did! I am now selling my other guitars to buy an additional one in white on black.

The sound plugged in is great. It is unlike anything I have ever played before. You can get those melodic sounds of a Telecaster as well as the drive and crunch out of a Les Paul (almost) You get a good deep resonance when playing. I run this guitar in black through an Orange CR60C. Plays excellent clean and distorted. I run 3 mainly different setups. Clean with delay for swells, slightly distorted for lead, and heavily distorted for other needs.

My musical taste is hard rock, metal, and praise and worship. Somewhat of an eclectic set, but I play them all with worship being the main thing.

The guitar sounds great for me when playing overall. From standard tuning all the way down to drop D, I haven't gone any further down.

Overall if you are on the fence, get off and get it. I am not endorsed or pushed to give this review. I love it and moving full speed ahead.

HEAVY MAHOGANY BODY YOU WILL HAVE TO BALANCE. Body is to heavy for neck which will cause you to do a balancing act. Please be aware before you purchase this axe. This "Squier" Jim Root model would of rated high if they used alder for body & would be better balanced. Nothing worse when you have to play!

Bland

By Tyler DeLaCruz

Comments about Squier Jim Root Signature Telecaster Electric Guitar:

From looks it looks great. But looks can be decieving. Almost exactly like his signature. It's no where near as smoth and easy as its big brother (to play). Pickups are crap. Sound is bland and boring. Which is the exact opposite of Jims real tele. If you're looking for a show case guitar just because you like Slipknot or Stone Sour then look no further. But if you're looking to get their amazing sound just save and buy the big boy. This guitar is not for the serious guitar player, maybe a begginer.
Sounds like crap.
Very cheaply made.
You get exactly what you paid for is this case.

Comments about Squier Jim Root Signature Telecaster Electric Guitar:

i did save some money on it but still overpriced. I will need to bring it to my tech to adjust the string height. I am not in a hurry to do this as it plays ok. THE GUITAR WAS PACKAGED WELL
Its a decent starter guitar, I bought the white one and love the looks of it. The pickups are OK as the guitar sounds good. I dont need a case because it hangs on the wall.
the input jack on mine is cheap, the selector switch could be better. the pickups are decent for now. The bridge pickup could be hotter, because the neck pickup is loud. The one volume tone contol, I dont like but its a starter guitar for my son and its better than what I had in 77, not by much.
Over priced -

Comments about Squier Jim Root Signature Telecaster Electric Guitar:

If you like Jim Root's versions of Fenders as much as I do then buy this guitar. Then immediately order EMGS(81 and 60) and you will have a beast of a guitar!!!!! I have the Fender Custom Shop Jim Root Strat and I can't tell the difference in quality(except for pickups) in the 2 guitars. All you have to do is buy this guitar with a set of EMGs and you'll have Jim Root tone.

Comments about Squier Jim Root Signature Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I am writing another review for this guitar because i have a lot more experience now with guitars and will tell a little more detailed review..... Alright, this guitar IS NOT BAD!!! it's a good guitar, it plays nice, the neck feels nice and fast, it stays IN TUNE. I had bought it for the same price at my local music shop, and I didn't think it would be good because it was a Squier, but as soon as I played it, i was SHOCKED..... I really don't see why people say this guitar is cheap. The pickups though, are not really that hot, so i am going to be putting a Dimarzio D-Activator in the bridge and keeping the neck Pup Stock.

Really enjoying this guitar! I hesitated about purchasing, so glad i did. Neck feel is great and the satin finish just makes it play so smooth. Comfortable to play sitting and standing. I have always wanted a tele but wanted something a little different. This fit the bill perfectly. If you have thought about this guitar but the lack of reviews etc. may be keep you from buying. Just get it you will be glad you did!

I wasn't sure if I should get this guitar or not but im glad I did. I read a tone of reviews ,but I made the choice to go with it. Seen a lot of people down this guitar because it doesn't have the emgs and was bad feel but that's bull. Had an awesome neck feel and a really good sound. True not the hottest pickups but I like em better then emgs. This is a great buy. And not top heavy ,great to play standing up or down which is something I look at when I buy a guitar. I'm a 100% satisfied with this guitar. Plus got it packaged and set up just right when I got it

Comments about Squier Jim Root Signature Telecaster Electric Guitar:

Solid guitar, great feel, great sound. Volume knob is only tone knob it truly needs. Acoustics are surprising unplugged, sustain for days! Running into an Orange Micro Dark and they pair beautifully. The pups are decent, sure emgs may be they way to go for some, I myself am not a die hard active pup guy and though I love metal, I keep finding myself rolling back the guitars volume to jam because its kinda shocking how versatile this thing is with a single volume and 3 way blade. Mahogany body, humbuckers, and can still dial in that classic Tele spank. Most of all I love that when this guitar was designed Jim Root wanted it to have an ambiguous look. It doesn't scream SLIPKNOT (who I love).. Its just a mean looking and sounding
                black Tele. I love mine.

Was actually set up pretty well out of the box, only made minor adjustments. It has a flat finish so no sticky poly anywhere. My only regret was that I waited so long to buy it : P

I do love this guitar It feels really amazing to play and I have had it for 2 years now. It was always my go to guitar to play anything the Pickups are not as hot as I would expect but it's good for maybe some things toned down a bit. soft rock ect. Overall I love it but I have had to fix it up frequently loose knobs/Input jack ect. I wouldn't have it as my main squeeze but I do love it.
