A stereo delay unit with precise, hands-on sound control.
One twist, one gesture and the Echolocator bends space in a way that responds as naturally as your playing. Developed with 112dB, this stereo, studio-grade delay introduces an expressive “bat-like navigation” workflow that lets you shape repeats and movement in real time. Its 12 tweakable parameters provide deep control for crafting everything from precise rhythmic echoes to evolving ambient textures, while full preset save/recall and comprehensive MIDI integration keep performances fluid and adaptable. Housed in a compact aluminum desktop chassis designed for hands-on operation, the Echolocator gives guitarists, synth players and producers a delay engine that breaks past traditional stompbox boundaries and invites true creative exploration.
Core Delay Engine and Time-Shaping Tools
At the center of the Echolocator is a flexible delay engine capable of times ranging from 4 ms to 4 seconds, covering everything from crisp slapback echoes to sweeping atmospheric swells. Tap tempo, MIDI clock sync and a variety of rhythmic divisions (1/1, 1/2, 3/2 and more) ensure seamless integration with modern performance setups. The interaction between the TIME, MOD SPEED and MOD DEPTH controls allows users to sculpt modulation ranging from subtle chorusing to tape-like wobble or the Echolocator’s signature “Orbit” jitter textures. For darker, more vintage flavor, DIRTY mode introduces BBD-inspired coloration that softens the repeats and adds a degraded analog character to longer feedback trails.
Tone-Shaping Tools: Filters, Feedback, EQ and Compression
Sculpting the intensity and shape of the delay starts with the feedback control, which ranges from tight rhythmic taps to near-infinite regeneration for drones and evolving loops. Dual controls for FILTER Q and FILTER CUTOFF offer detailed tonal shaping, and the ability to place the filter either in the feedback loop or directly in series fundamentally changes how repeats build or decay. A built-in compressor tames extreme feedback spikes and keeps more experimental modulation settings musical and mix-ready. These tools work together to define the Echolocator’s identity as a precision-engineered delay—one capable of fine, surgical tuning as well as wild, creative movement.
Creative Features: Shimmer, Reverb, Freeze and Stereo Imaging
For more atmospheric or harmonically rich textures, the Echolocator includes SHIMMER processing with a pitch-shift range of –12 to +12 semitones and two selectable voicings. Type A blends pitch gradually for a balanced mix, while Type B shifts toward fully wet, creating bold octave blooms or evolving fifth harmonics. A subtle room reverb adds depth behind the delay line without masking repeats, helping sounds sit naturally in space. The FREEZE function captures moments on the fly, allowing for drones, pads and transitions that sustain indefinitely. Combined with stereo spread options and ping-pong imaging, the Echolocator can generate wide, animated sound fields suited to ambient, electronic and cinematic performance styles.
Presets, Morphing and MIDI Control
With 40 factory presets and up to 60 user slots, the Echolocator offers a deep library of sounds that can be reorganized, renamed and recalled instantly. MAGIC mode enables quick generation of new parameter combinations—ideal for discovery or breaking creative blocks. The preset-morphing function allows transitions between presets to unfold gradually, creating fluid, evolving changes during live performance or recording sessions. Nearly every parameter can be assigned to a MIDI CC, and full MIDI IN/THRU support makes integration with pedalboards, synth rigs or DAW automation effortless. USB backup and restore functionality ensures patch libraries remain safe, portable and easy to share.
A Creative Delay Engine for Studio, Stage and Sonic Experimentation
The Echolocator stands out as a stereo precision delay built for musicians who want deep sound-shaping, expressive hands-on control and modern performance features that evolve with their music. Its combination of wide delay ranges, shimmer capabilities, freeze behavior, morphable presets and expansive stereo imaging makes it equally at home in studio production, live performance and experimental sound design. Explore its engines, push its modulation and shape immersive spaces that feel alive—this is a delay built to follow your imagination.
