Don't Forget

Raises the bar for onstage performance with its incredible sound, touch, and control.

The RD-700NX is a flagship stage piano that boasts an advanced SuperNATURAL Piano sound engine, electric piano sounds based on SuperNATURAL technology, a deluxe PHA III Ivory Feel Keyboard with Escapement, a unique Sound Focus feature, and a newly improved user interface with a large, high-resolution LCD. Whether your performances focus strictly on piano or a world of sound via master MIDI control, the RD-700NX is a dream instrument for the stage.

Grand Piano
The RD-700NX' acoustic piano sounds are derived from Roland' acclaimed SuperNATURAL Piano sound engine. There are three acoustic piano types onboard (Concert, Studio, and Brilliant) and 30 variations to choose from. With SuperNATURAL Piano technology, three essential elements are dramatically improved: velocity response, note decay, and key-range behavior. Where previous technology created coarse œstair-step gaps in velocity and key range, and unnatural looping in note decay, SuperNATURAL Piano bridges the gaps with perfectly smooth and natural three-dimensional sound and response.

E. Piano
For EP lovers, the RD-700NX contains a SuperNATURAL-based electric piano that meticulously models vintage electric pianos from the 1960s, ™70s, and ™80s. Beyond standard EP modeling, SuperNATURAL technology enables completely new types of EP sounds to be created. You can change the position of the virtual pickups, for example, or exchange components of the sound generating system entirely.

PHA III Keyboard
The RD-700NX' PHA III Keyboard with Escapement offers maximum comfort, playability, and response. PHA III improves key repetition and perfectly conveys dynamic, velocity-based tonal changes. The escapement mechanism recreates the authentic œclick feel of a grand-piano keyboard, which particularly enhances expression when playing pianissimo. The keyboard also features Roland' acclaimed Ivory Feel, a comfortable and realistic moisture-absorbent material that prevents slipping from perspiration during performance. The authentic coloration of grand-piano keys can also been seen on the sides of the white keys.

Sound Focus
The innovative Sound Focus feature ensures that every note will be heard, even subtle pianissimo passages. Based on SuperNATURAL phase-correction technology, this essential feature ensures the RD-700NX won™t get lost in the mix, penetrating through walls of sound without compressing or coloring the tone. Players can relax and play naturally, achieving presence onstage without sacrificing dynamics and sound quality.

One-Touch Access
The popular One Touch Piano feature from previous RD-series pianos has been enhanced in the RD-700NX. It provides instant access to standard piano sounds and setups with the touch of a button. Three types of acoustic pianos and three types of electric pianos are now available for instant One Touch recall.

Sight & Sound
Along with the gorgeous grand pianos and EPs, hundreds of additional sounds are built into the RD-700NX: 242 tones, 10 Tone Wheel organs, 256 GM2 tones, 5 rhythm sets, and 9 GM2 rhythm sets in all. Sifting through the sound library is fast and convenient with the new, high-resolution LCD, which provides clearer visibility and a beautiful graphical user interface.

Great Board...

By Victor Cegarra

from Los Angeles

Comments about Roland RD-700NX Stage Piano:

I really like this board and bought it under the understanding that sounds from the expansion board that includes the V-Piano sound will be built in. I love the action and the sound. It's very realistic and to be fair to a real acoustic piano I'll have to say it's almost there. Sounds designers and engineers at Roland are very very close to a real Grand. I have tried and owned other brands but this one is best at this price range. I also like the finish on the keys as it is not the shiny type and makes it very comfortable to play. Great action and the variety of sounds included besides the pianos and electrics cover all the basis. My only thing about this board and the other from the competitors is the weight. I wish it was lighter but a board that sounds this great is going to be somewhat at least from 52 to 55 lbs. Given that many bags and cases come with wheels, it's not as bad but I'm being selective to when and where I take this beast. The sound and feel of this board makes the effort worth my while. Other musicians are very impressed about the sound.

Comments about Roland RD-700NX Stage Piano:

I perform live with a gospel group, and also teach music within our local school system. I have been playing professionally for around 14 years. I had a xv-88 that I didn't want to let go of. When I came across the 700 and started reading the specs, I knew it was time to upgrade. I constantly am layering and switching between instruments on the keys. The features along with the spectacular patches and sounds are amazing. With its ease of use and with its concert quality, I have received compliments again and again from other professionals. Thank you Roland for once again setting the standard!

Comments about Roland RD-700NX Stage Piano:

Amazing sound and action, quite heavy, (not something that bothers me), difficult to find a quality bag that fits and may settle for skb type of case. I have used this on a few gigs and all my musician friends and fellow band members have commented favorably about the sound. Two thumbs up?!
