A microphone doesn't have to stop at capturing your voice. The teenage engineering EP-2350 FX MIC turns the handheld mic into a playable performance instrument, combining intentionally lo-fi vocal character with real-time effects, triggerable samples and hands-on parameter control. Built for vocalists, DJs, producers and performers who want to manipulate sound directly from the mic, it connects to the EP-40 RIDDIM or a sound system through its 1/8" line output. Four distinctive voice effects—Echo, Echo+Spring, Pixie and Robot—provide an immediate range of vocal transformations, while onboard sampling and live modulation make the mic an active part of the performance.
Shape Effects and Trigger Samples While Performing
Hands-on controls make it possible to manipulate sound without moving away from the mic. A dedicated handle adjusts effect parameters in real time, while physically shaking the EP-2350 can modulate assigned parameters for another layer of performance control. Four onboard sample slots provide immediate access to sounds, with dedicated controls for selecting and triggering samples. Factory sounds can be replaced with custom WAV files, and 1MB of onboard storage supports mono or stereo samples in 8-, 16- and 24-bit or 32-bit floating-point formats at sample rates up to 96kHz.
Customize Effects for Your Performance Style
Deeper customization is available by editing the onboard config.json file, allowing users to redesign effect chains and determine how parameters respond to the handle, motion and other modulation. This makes it possible to move beyond the four factory presets and configure the microphone around an individual performance approach. Power comes from two AAA batteries for portable operation or USB-C for a connected setup, while the attached 1/8" curly cable provides line-level output. Combining live vocal processing, sampling and extensive user customization in a handheld design, the teenage engineering EP-2350 FX MIC functions as both a microphone and a compact performance instrument.
