Black Oyster Glass finish gives the shells a distinctive appearance, while professional hardware—including quarter-sized turret lugs, STM suspension mounts, graduated triple-flange hoops and True-Pitch tuning—supports consistent performance. Limited to just 125 sets worldwide, this Performance Series offering combines DW's established maple shell construction with refined appointments and exclusive styling.

HVX Maple Shells Deliver Warm, Punchy Drum Tone

At the heart of this shell pack are 8-ply shells crafted from 100% North American hard rock maple using DW's patented HVX construction. The specialized grain-orientation technology shapes the shells' response around low, punchy fundamentals with a warm tonal character. The 10" and 12" mounted toms provide complementary voices for articulate fills, while the 16" floor tom adds depth and body to the kit's overall sound. Anchoring the configuration, the 22" bass drum supplies a substantial low-end foundation. The tom shells feature 45-degree bearing edges, while the bass drum uses a 60-degree back-cut design. Together, these elements give the shell pack a cohesive tonal identity suited to a variety of musical settings.

Professional DW Hardware Supports Resonance and Tuning Stability

DW equips the Performance Series shell pack with professional hardware designed to support shell response, reliable tuning and practical setup. Quarter-sized turret lugs complement the shells' streamlined appearance, while graduated triple-flange hoops provide a balance of structural support and open resonance. The mounted toms feature DW's STM (Suspension Tom Mounts) system, which minimizes direct contact with the shells to help preserve their natural vibration. True-Pitch tension rods allow precise tuning adjustments across the kit, while the bass drum features matching maple hoops and low-mass claw hooks. Factory-equipped Remo drumheads complete the playing setup. Together, these components provide a dependable hardware foundation that complements the shells' warm, punchy tonal character.

Limited-Edition Styling Meets Performance Series Construction

The Black Oyster Glass finish distinguishes this limited Performance Series shell pack, bringing a classic patterned appearance to DW's American-made maple drums. Beneath the exterior, the 8-ply HVX shells provide a balanced combination of warmth, punch and low-end response across the four-piece configuration. Professional DW hardware further supports consistent tuning and responsive playing, making the kit adaptable to different musical settings. A matching 14x6.5" Performance Series snare drum is available separately for drummers seeking a coordinated setup. With production limited to 125 sets worldwide, the DW Performance Series 4-piece shell pack brings together specialized maple shell construction, professional hardware and exclusive styling in a versatile configuration for stage and studio.
