Overview
The vintage 1970s Aria 5522N is a pre-lawsuit single-cutaway electric guitar manufactured by the legendary Matsumoku plant in Japan for Arai Trading. The "N" in the model designation stands for its natural/blonde finish highlighting a flamed wood top.
Style: Single-cutaway solid body (Les Paul restoration/copy model).
Construction: Multi-ply or "pancake" sandwich body style (laminated wood back/core).
Top Wood: Laminated flamed maple top with natural finish
Wood: 3-piece maple neck (often with the center strip rotated for added strength).
Fretboard: Bound rosewood.
Inlays: Pearloid block inlays.
Frets: 22 medium frets.
Scale Length: 24.75 inches
Pickups: Dual vintage Japanese pickups (frequently original Maxon-made humbuckers or a neck single-coil/bridge humbucker configuration depending on exact production year variant).
Controls: 2 Volume, 2 Tone, and a 3-way toggle pickup selector switch.
